I fought mgt and my smoking colleagues for 2 yrs My hatred of smokers was eating me alive and made me sick dozens of times Came to the conclusion that they would rather cater to sickness and addiction than promote health and wellness Gave 2 days notice and quit, filed a complaint I wish I never worked here! I hope my complaint cleans up the air

You can say, I quit However, you must do so in a reasonable manner Responsibilities are important Also, as a part of your list of things to do to resign responsibly, you can add, asking your managers and bosses if they had questions and concerns that you can help clear up before you go🤔🙂 Not sure what you thinkbut how about a list reasons why you left? Should one include them too? Like if you were always kept out, never made to feel as part of a team, or you were always kept uninformed and not helped You were always questioned? Your creativity and proactive were always neglected and ignored I don't know just thinking of hypothetical scenarios 🫤

You don't owe your employer anything Sure giving a two week notice is preferred, but if you are being verbally or mentally abused, asked to do things against your moral compass, or know that no positive referral would be given after resigning, screw a two week notice You will never receive a two week notice of being laid off or fired

I made a pay equity complaint They let the HR person who made the decision to scam me be in charge of the investigation and make the determination He decision was that it was okay to pay the oldest, most experienced, most educated person the least and lie and say it was the top of the range I put in an ethics complaint They are dragging it out while they have my boss, who has no management experience, quiet fire me I have an offer for $15K more, to start in two weeks I haven’t taken vacation yet this year and I want a week off in between I’ve never given less than two weeks, but I am very tempted!

How about if, in a separe letter, you tell your ex-employer you need a letter verifying your dates and titles, and you tell them that they may verify this information in the future and nothing more brbrMost employers won’t say more anyway

I’ve made the decision to leave my Company after 24 years The Company hasn’t been profitable in the last 5 years They had 3 major layoffs, leaving the company with 4 employees left They are constantly cutting cost within the company, but it’s not enough They recently had to cut my pay , cut my hours to part time and is no longer giving PTO for the remainder of the year This is a hard decision for me, but the future of the Company doesn’t seem stable I am looking for a new job and I will give them 2 weeks when I do find a New job 😢

I declared my retirement because of the insubordination of my boss’s boss It took a few months to go into effect because I was just starting a paid FMLA My retirement cost the company tons of money and delayed a product upgrade by a year Last I looked… boss’s boss was no longer with the company

"Resignation" letter is a thing of the past It has a defeatist, servile, subservient odor The word now is "termination" letter sent by worker to employer ending his/her services The power imbalance between employer-worker is shrinking That's progress Giving "notice" is not necessary In US states with "at will" clauses, both the employer and employee can terminate the arrangement without cause, without notice I've done it myself with no repurcussions

If the company makes a habit of walking people out I give them the same courtesy “Here is my resignation letter, yes it’s effective immediately”

Hi Andrew, I'm preparing to resign I know my manager will want a reason as to why I'm leaving and won't be able to accept my decision I feel its best to say its just not the right fit and leave it at that She will want to know WHY though Is it ok to say I prefer to not go into details? The issue is she will get deep on it Unfortunately, I feel I have to give some sort of reason I've been at this job for 7 months and my boss is a micromanager All my energy goes into dealing with her I am terrified to tell her but my health is seriously being affected right now Thank you for your work!
