In my country, it's actually illegal to photograph anyone without their consent It doesn't matter if they're in public or not Conversely, people working for news papers or TV unconsentually take photos and videos of people all the time, and make money from them Occasionally, we'll even have a news story about people photographing others on the beach without their consent, while showing a video the same news crew took on the same beach of people who they didn't ask for consent either :-/

No, upskirt shots should be illegal It is taking advantage of a form of clothing that are usually particular to females (skirts and dresses) in order to take illicit photos of them Shitting in a public restroom doesn't mean someone has a right to photograph you with your pants down just because the restroom is "public" Not only is it an invasion of privacy, but posting said photos online could ruin a reputation or lose the person their job

Taking upskirt photos without consent is what could be legislated against 'Privacy in public' sounds like an oxymoron (although that's not the same as Orwellian doublethink) but if you examine what I'm saying, it makes sense If somebody covers their private areas, they can expect that privacy to be respected in public They aren't making it public What is socially acceptable may be relative but that doesn't make it meaningless Things are really socially acceptable or not in country x

You've got a point but if the guy is trying to put the camera low and angle it to get an upskirt shot, a point that people can't normally look at her from, he's crossing the line and violating the privacy she can reasonably expect Its not socially acceptable to get on your knees and peek up someone's skirt and even less acceptable to photo it and put it on the internet Besides, it just goes against common courtesy to try to photograph someone's privates!
