I write my own software from time to time and linux or BSD is my preferred choice, although i've compiled a lot of shit with EMU too Mainly because i was lazy in the moment or i didn't give a fuck, probably both Comment from : Palamedes |

As far as hardware support, Linux does support nearly every piece of hardware unless it is a very unknown and exotic gadget since a few years backbrSteam gaming has been available for a few years alreadybrThe info in this videos are quite partial and not really reliable and feels like the typical Windows FUD from a Microsoft fanboy Comment from : ER OS |
No you see, when someone asks you "have you tried Linux?" they very easily could have meant "have you tried it in general?" You sounded like you were intentionally misunderstanding the question for some hypothetical situation Comment from : Scott Bisco |

Why Intel 80860 came out of the game? Comment from : Laikes Agores |

I've switched to Linux in 2005brI never liked WindozebrMac OS is a good system, but very boring too Comment from : Vindix 007 |
as a linux gamer i can tell you that windows programs have little to no issue running on the 4 linux distros i checked, maybe one or 2 got glitched but that can be fixed by trying other emulator since raw wine is not the only one, meaning that saying gaming is worse on linux is not a right statement just because some games aren't native, they run as well and most times even better on linux than on windows even if its not native Comment from : SheepRiderKiller |
Windows recognizes your computer's drivers easily awhile Linux is just like giving birth! Comment from : Lucas Piano |

The main thing I didn't like about Windows that doesn't happen on Linux at all:brbrIN WINDOWS: Copying or Extracting large files between hard drives through the Windows Explorer stops all possibility of multitasking until the task is completebrIN LINUX: it has a much better task scheduler, you can copy or extract files between hard drives and still multitask in the background with barely any performance loss Comment from : Similak Child |
I like Linux but it's hard to install and find things I wish it was easier Windows 10 is fast but their system is controlling you and bulling you every day I'm so sick of Windows ways Comment from : Candys Games |

Happy with Linux - we are not going back to the delays, problems, costs, agenda and politics of microsoft Windows 11 and it's lack of processor support on our machines was however, the main reason for the switch Comment from : shepherdgroup biz |
I use Windows and Linux 50/50, and I couldn't be happier I'm a programmer in the gaming industry, I work in Unity and Unreal, I also code and deploy custom linux-based servers IMO it's pointless to argue which of the OS'es is best, as both are here to stay If I'm coding a server or microservice, I use Linux exclusively, no one hosts on Windows If I'm working on game code, I'm on Windows, exclusively, no one cares about desktop Linux Comment from : Standbackforscience |

Linux might run on just about anything but that doesn't mean all your hardware will work Comment from : John King |
Maybe I missed it, but I didn't really see any information on the base power/efficiency of the core OS design Like if you were to take away everything from the gui to bundled applications to any application released Which OS would be more efficient build a UI, functionality components and code applications for from the ground up Comment from : Sean Leastria |
Purely for fun, for my first PC build, I didn't want to pay for Windows or use an unregistered version so I tried out Linux Never gone back Comment from : John the John John |

Linux x Windows:br- Good x Evilbr- Life x Deathbr- Light x Shadow Comment from : Andrew Kamoha |
I had Windows 3 with a 25 GB hard drive😃😃😃 It was super intuitive and easy to use In other words, nothing like Windows 8,10 I tried Linux a few times over the years and it was such a massive hassle to get it to work with anything I used, like the printers in my house From the other comments it seems like it has become a lot more usable since the five or six years ago when I last tried it Comment from : Tim |

@19:32 the video shows "But Azure also replies on Linux" Yikes, that seems awkward Should have been "relies," like you ido/i say in the video at that point; just a presentation error Comment from : slashtiger1 |
I'm pretty sure there's a way to run some of adobe or ms office things on Linux though (through things like winapps) Comment from : Ant Composer |
Windows perpetrates a gnosticism of the elect It demands that anyone who just wants to use a computer for other work, rather than making the computer the object of the task, must comply with the setup that Microsoft forces on us--along with being buggy and fundamentally a siphon hose for private databrbrBy contrast, many Linux distros are designed with openness as a core value Yes, there are some RTFM sloganeers, but a lot of other people are glad to help, and the manuals make far more sense than any "Help" page coming out of Redmond Comment from : Greg Camp |
Linux works That's a key difference Comment from : Greg Camp |
There's really only one drawback of Linux: laptops with Linux preinstalled aren't available in large retail stores Soon after that happens (if it does), just watch how desktop Linux leaves Windows and Macs behind in the dust! Comment from : Yak28 |
I'd love a part two to this Comment from : Adam Pollack |

Yes let's talk about the information is prying from your PC Windows for ARM - How many of the LIbs are available for ARM64? Is it probably easier to develop ARM64 software on Linux than Windows? Would it make sense with vehicles like wasm to replace the desktop with a browser? Comment from : TheBadFred |
I would have loved if you covered cloud / container based computing more I really think this has been a big win for linux Docker, WSL, VMWare, VirtualBox, etc Comment from : 99codemister |

Linus Torvalds is "Lynn-us" and Linus Sebastian is "Lie-nus" different pronunciation but same spelling Comment from : Jason Gooden |
Fragmentation isn't a problem of real significance It's still all Linux! The desktop/distro choices are really just a way of you getting as close to your personal comfort area as quickly as possible - that's a boon, not a bane, just like no one thinks buying a t-shirt is a problem because there are so many t-shirt manufacturers and retailers etc , and switching to a desktop/distro is so easy that if you think there's a better one out there for you, it's quite easy to hop and try out with very short install times and very few virtual box 'tryout' issues with very low hardware overheads Brilliant While unfamiliarity of UI's causes new users to 'slow down' while accustomization takes place - I would say it's much more intuitive than Windows and things are easier to find meaning one can fer to equivalent familiarization really quickly Comment from : kychemclass |

Basically Linux has been successful in every place that is not the desktop, and anything related to the desktop Anyway I think it's slowly changing since 10 years ago, and now it's not hard to find people using Linux in the office or at home It has helped some excellent apps also available natively for Linux Comment from : ernestuz |
