Ricci Talks
Hey Everyone ! brbrit's real the Z 9 is coming soon brbrWhat features do you want to see on the Z 9 ? brlet me know in the comments below brbrThank you so much for watching !
Comment from : Ricci Talks

Alun Williams
I would like to see a focussing/tracking system that is world class! Alun
Comment from : Alun Williams

rianto hanafiah
Nikon Company must develop a " super fast Auto focusing " , especially in " low light area " Now , this is the weakness of Nikon Z 7 series
Comment from : rianto hanafiah

Cindy
The Z9 would be EXCELLENT to include, either by itself or as an add on extra adapter, with compatibility for AUTO FOCUS with AFD lenses including the screw focus motor MANY of us out there have SO many of those pre-S lenses This would take this introduction of the first PRO mirror-less body to a new desirable level just saying
Comment from : Cindy

Brian OConnor
I think Nikon will come out with a Z8/10 three or four months after the Z9 comes out with Z9 technology, 60mp Sensor in a Z7II body Nikon did this with the first Full Frame DSLR the D3, shortly followed by the D700 Like the D700 it was more reasonably priced It would be direct competition for the Sony R7 IV I personally think a Z8/10 with the specs I mentioned would sell as fast as the D850 when it was first introduced
Comment from : Brian OConnor

Lars Thufvesson
Currently I have a D850 and I am really pleased to see the rubber handles for the dials Having had a Z7 in my hands, the metal handles I didn't feel comfortable since I all the time use those dials Finally, let's cross our fingers for a competitive auto focus!
Comment from : Lars Thufvesson

Diego
I’d really like the ff:br1 EVF with no blackout like the Sony A1br2 AF as good as the R5/A1 or betterbr3 Tethering speed to be super fast The Z7 II is so slow tethering in Capture One Pro compared to the R5 It’s even slower than the D850 br4 Flash sync speed minimum 1/320br5 10-bit 422 internal video up to minimum 60P with good downscaling to 4KbrbrIf all of these are accomplished, I’ll order 2 please!
Comment from : Diego

Cotictimmy
I never liked the new small bodies, so I'm happy to see this I won't be able to afford a Z9 in the 2020's, but that's okay cos I still love my D3X & D810
Comment from : Cotictimmy

Marc Labro
hello, everybody wants the same eye detection than a7m3, a7m9, canon r5/r6 first the AF, even V11, is really poor and we are all afraid that you propagate it on new Z9 hardware before fixing this problem for z6ii and z7ii tedious this red box in wide mode AF, yellow subject tracking FN1, please use your two expeed at their full capacity AI is there to help recognizing a face from a tree or a bush :-)
Comment from : Marc Labro

enverse
Numero uno I think should be the speed in which the evf comes on when raising your eye to the evf to engage the eye sensor Theres a slight delay and the Nikon Z6/Z7ii didnt make this any quicker than the original Z6/Z7 Despite it being a slight delay, its still there and you lose the immediacy you get from a DSLR optical viewfinder Whilst I appreciate an optical viewfinder is always going to be quicker, the Z series eye sensor reaction needs to be faster The Canon R5/R6 have got this nailed I love Nikon but when using the R5/R6 set to Auto switch between EVF/LCD its so much quicker! Please can we push for a fast EVF eye sensor switch! I so wish this can be updated in firmware!
Comment from : enverse

Peter T
Is there any chance for a Global Shutter? For me personally a camera would only need manual mode, aperture priority, 1/8000th shortest shutter speed, fantastic rear display as well as EVF and flash sync speed up to 1/4000th of a second And a state of the art AF-system of course Will never happen, I know
Comment from : Peter T

Steven de Bie
Hi Ricci, I’d absolutely want to program different focus modes under the function buttons, like in my D500
Comment from : Steven de Bie

Otto Donkers
Great talk / analysis !
Comment from : Otto Donkers

Gabriel Lum
I think this is a small one but it would be nice if the shutter would close, covering the sensor, when the Z 9 is turned off
Comment from : Gabriel Lum

M Aldridge
Discovered, enjoyed, and subscribed!brI want it just the way they developed it because it is loaded with incredible technologywill be getting rid of my D500, D850, and numerous FX lenses to get ready for this amazing moment in timebrHey Nikon; I forgive for what you did with the D600 catastrophe When you pulled the rug from under our feet and introduced a D610, thereby killing any chances of us being able to sell the dreadful D600quite a low blow it was
Comment from : M Aldridge

Gabriel Fernandez
Is Nikon working on releasing a variable ND filter adapter for video?
Comment from : Gabriel Fernandez

707 Gaming
Great news ! just wish it is FULL-BODIED 👍
Comment from : 707 Gaming

John Valean Baily
two CF Express cards, not a mix of CF and SD cards - Thanks Ricci
Comment from : John Valean Baily

Gabriel Fernandez
I know no one seems to care but I have been a Nikon shooter for about a decade and have no intentions of abandoning ship But no is making a comprehensive and thorough video on how and what the real-world differences are on the Z7ii and the Z6ii when it comes specifically to video recording Please Ricci can you make a video on that now that they can both do 4k 60p, and how they both use the sensor differently to provide their image quality
Comment from : Gabriel Fernandez

Brian Roberts
I would like to see 45mgp, 20fps, better ISO, super fast autofocus, for wildlife and sports I have NO interest in video, just a super quick camera qith a large buffer and fast transfer
Comment from : Brian Roberts

Strodav
Per your question: hybrid viewfinder and / or a no lag, no blackout high resolution evf (I am a birder); high frame rate mechanical shutter (> D6 14fps); higher frame rate electronic shutter; match or exceed the R5's AF system particularly animal / bird and human eye tracking; AF to the edges of the frame; 60mp sensor (I shoot landscapes as well); improvements over the D850 (or at least no reduction) in DR, tonal range, SNR so 16 bit / color; good low light performance; focus stacking; focus peaking; improved Live View mode compared to the D850; improved ibis over the Z7ii; high resolution, bright, articulating touch lcd screen; dual CFExpres card slots; great wireless connectivity If it met these specs, I'd figure out how to purchase one even at $6500
Comment from : Strodav

g b
My wish listbr- more dedicated buttonsbr- focus confirmation in af-c (I still don't get it why Nikon dropped that feature)br- better focus handling (eg quick switching between modes Like in d850)br- highlight warning in photo mode (like "g6" in video mode)br- customizable overlys (not just a fixed scroll trough list)br- customizable grid overlay (rule of thirds)br- brAnd I hope Nikon will repeat their successfull tripple they had a decade ago: D3/D700/D300 -> Z9/Z8/Z80(?) My dream is a Z8 with Z9 features, but smaller body and affordable price (as the D700 was the little brother of the D3)brbrAnd hopefully they will bring some firmware features back to the Z6/7(II)
Comment from : g b

Arpit Rungta
I hope this is good for fashion photography too
Comment from : Arpit Rungta

Stefano Campani
Autofocus, autofocus, autofocus! ;)
Comment from : Stefano Campani

Robert Lindstedt
As a filmmaker I hope 🤞 it has 4K 120fps and 1080 240fps and of course internal record of ProRES RAW
Comment from : Robert Lindstedt

Marcus Braun
My want: Nikon being succesfull with this camera so the overall speed package (stacked sensor, new processor, EVF, AF) will trickle down the other z series bodies in the future as you mentioned Nikon is heading the right way in my opinion, the z lenses released so far were great choices, sure more to come, throw in that new technology from the z9 and in a few years, oh boy, what a camera system will this be! That's the real exciting news here for me
Comment from : Marcus Braun

Amir Tajlili
Sometimes being late doesn't mean failure Maybe it means getting ready for a great launch Nikon means the history of photography and it will never die There are millions of photographer around the world who are behind Nikon
Comment from : Amir Tajlili

dominique bantasan
And it should be thief proof🤩🤩🤩
Comment from : dominique bantasan

Lendvay Norbert Márk
It will be the first 8k camera from Nikon The Z9 will be better than the D6 We can take 8k30p, 4k120/60/30p videos It sounds good!
Comment from : Lendvay Norbert Márk

Will Lee
Great chat Ricci For me, weight is important coupled with Gimbal flexibility and ease of balancing This prototype body looks top heavy in comparison with Z6/Z7 Better auto focus is a must
Comment from : Will Lee

J Kimmer
I'm excited for Ricci and all my friends who are currently using Nikonone of my friends use Nikon and have lens and body that his father used and handed down to his son
Comment from : J Kimmer

Tom Mason
THIS IS GOING TO BE SWEET! Can't wait for us to get out and test this when we get them in our hands!
Comment from : Tom Mason

Chris Whitham
Hi Ricci no doubt It will be on my wish list hope it feels just as good in the hands as my D3s
Comment from : Chris Whitham

Chris Whitham
Hi GREAT Camera 3D tracking would be good on Z9
Comment from : Chris Whitham

GoneToHelenBach
Finally, a mirrorless that interests me and isn't built for people whose hands stopped growing at 8 years of age, but it will be way out of my price range
Comment from : GoneToHelenBach

Matthew Sykes
Ok, that's what I would love to see in this body, a wishlist for both pro photographer and videographer (I know i'm crazy but dreaming don't cost anything, BUT, if the Z9 will have those features the price would be higher than 6500$ 😂) br-Better AF, or maybe i should say smarter AF, i want a mode that is capable of automatically switch from face-eye tracking to body tracking to object tracking when the subject is too small in the frame, this thing needs to work for both people and animalsbrbr-I would love to see the FX version of the 1" sensor they presented at the end of the end of february, it would mean a lot for the image of Nikon as a companybrbr-At least 20fps with mechanical shutter, 25 or 30fps with electronic shutter would be a nice add for catching the perfect moment in a burst If I had to choose between 25fps at 14bit or 16bit and 30fps at 12bit i would go for quality over quantity (The buffer needs to be on par with other brands)brbr-Stunning high resolution EVF (9mpx) with 120hz of refresh rate and the ability to drop down resolution for higher refresh ratebrbr-The back LCD screen need to be tiltable in two direction (like the Lumix S1) brbr-Awesome IBIS (6 stops are more than enough) for helping at lower shutter speed with long telephoto lenses in photos but also for video This camera will also be used for wildlife, it would be nice to be able to take a gorgeous video without annoying micro movements caused from a 600mm for example brbrSpeaking of videobr-It NEEDS to have at least the N-Log 10bit 4:2:2 internal recording at high bitratesbrbr-Great preamps for capturing audio, an additional mini XLR would be awesome in my opinionbrbr-SDI portbr br-Full size HDMI capable of 16bit external Rawbrbr-Nikon and Sigma are the only companies that give you the opportunity to record externally BRaw, and it's great, but I hope Nikon take a step forward and learn from Blackmagic how to record Raw videos at all resolution, 8k,6k and 4k without cropping the sensor or pixel binning, like the Ursa 12K, not everybody have the hardware for edit an 8k file, but most importantly, if the Z9 will have this feature will catch the attention of all the videographers who use Blackmagic because MAYBE, one day, the next Z6III or a videocentric mirrorless camera from Nikon, will be able to do the same at lower price and would be a nice mate alongside a Pocket 4k or 6k brbr-Support for anamorphic recording, shutter angles, waveform, zebras, false colors, and all the pro assist tools for cinematographer settable by customizable function buttonsbrbr-The ability to record directly on external SSD, it would be much faster for the workflow and especially cheaperbrbr-No time record limit, if it overheat at 8k 30p 10bit "it's ok", the important thing is the recover time, but at lower resolutions it should't overheat I would say put a vent inside but I think it would be too much for an hybrid camera, and the toughness of the body may be affected by this option, so I hope for some kind of vapor chamber system for dissipate the heatbrbr-And finally, great battery life for stills and good enough for high resolution video recordingbrbr"THAT'S IT"brI know it's A LOT of stuff but it's not sci-fi technology, it's what we already have on the market in different brands, not in a "all in one" pack, obviously, but if Nikon says "Groundbreaking technology" i pretend A LOT They need to prove that they are still in business and they don't want to sit down and look how the big dominate the market If you are still here and you have read everything let me know what you think about my wishlist and which is the yours! :D
Comment from : Matthew Sykes

inovArtesMediaLda inovArtes
Great stuff That top (viewfinder) reminds me of the old F5, just a bit slimmer obviously brbrCan’t wait 😝!
Comment from : inovArtesMediaLda inovArtes

Abid Dyer
Hi Ricci, I am concerned about the hot show in front right of the camera, I hope they are not just like D850 has because its a pain to put remote into that hot shoe I am curious , is it going to have one battery or two batteries ? hope two and in a way like new battery back for Z6 II, I hope buttons lit in dark if you want to
Comment from : Abid Dyer

Mika
I want the viewfinder and rear lcd to be nice, mainly the viewfinder though, 944m pls 🤝
Comment from : Mika

Funktrainer
As a D4 user of course it has to support the EN-EL18 type of batteries for a seamless transition
Comment from : Funktrainer

Funktrainer
The EVF has to be in the same league or even surpass that of a Leica SL and SL2
Comment from : Funktrainer

Funktrainer
I'd prefer a Z8 with less megapixels 30 megapixels are more than enough to become a superfast camera with exceptional ISO performance Idon't care for 8k and video at all
Comment from : Funktrainer

Harish Chavda MPAGB AIPS
I shoot sports stills and never the video I use D5 & D4s So if Z9 can be improved on D6 with even better auto focus, higher FPS, hi Res, decent battery lifebrPersonally, I don't shoot video so don't care about it - infact I'm paying money for something I don't use!brI have tried Z6ll but doesn't cut it for sports yet However, the Z70-200 28 lens is awesome!brSo I want stills body, call it z8 or whatever without the video which would be much cheaper???brDoes anyone agree?
Comment from : Harish Chavda MPAGB AIPS

Mladen Radman
Great news, Christmas 2021 is going to be excitingbrbrPersonal preference is smaller camera, ideal upgrade would be Z9 photographic features (not video minded) in a bodysize between z6/7 and z9 - would that be z8 that’s been speculated about
Comment from : Mladen Radman

Sorin Lavric
What I want ? I want : superior autofocus, best battery life, best weather protection, a good price (around 5000 USD/EURO) and everything (at least the most positive specs) we found on D6/D850/Z7II-Z6II 😁
Comment from : Sorin Lavric

Woo Koo
More customization options for the buttons In Z6/7 the options list is very limited, esp for the joystick brId love to see macros!, eg you push the record button once and it sets wide area & shutter high & iso auto You push the button again - it sets point focus & shutter 5fps & iso 100 & etc Whatever you choose
Comment from : Woo Koo

Nick DiRaddo
4k 120fps br67mpbr20fps for actionbrDual CF express type a and b
Comment from : Nick DiRaddo

Che Andre
I would love to see a more improved autofocus compared to the Z6ii and the ability to record 4K120 log internally Not too much to ask from a camera that will be priced around $7000
Comment from : Che Andre

Paul Kirk
Most of all I’d like to see the focus tracking performing to the same level as their dslr’s
Comment from : Paul Kirk

Gene Whitney
I"m looking forward to the Z8 rather than the Z9 I don't need the big body, 8k video, or the $6,500 price tag, but can't wait for the Z9 technology to "drip down" to the enthusiast cameras If the Z8 comes in at $4k, I'll buy it immediately
Comment from : Gene Whitney

R Laprir
Using D810, Hope Z9 will improve significantly fast AF for flying birds with 500mm PF Thanks for your presentation
Comment from : R Laprir

daytona765
i want nikon to make a z8 like the d850 replacementbrand i want nikon to make a body made for manual focus lens that zooms in like megadap does but in body/more reliable
Comment from : daytona765

Suhail Khan
Nice video
Comment from : Suhail Khan

MooseMan Nature Photos
You're the only guy I watch YouTube of Nikon Your presentation is wonderful This is going to be a great new tool for a working pro and also folks seeking simple high performance Super pumped for this machine
Comment from : MooseMan Nature Photos

Ron Goodlin
I have to wonder if Nikon will use this technology to create a cinema video camera similar to the Sony FX3
Comment from : Ron Goodlin

Paul Marotta
I returned my Z cameras after less than a month as they were clearly not pro levelhorizontal banding, rolling shutter distortion, horrible EVF and EVF blackout, focus huntingwas a disasterI had been working direct with Sony and a local shop to make a complete conversion and decided to waitwill I regret that? I have an army D5/6 cameras and lenses and really don't want to change platform and need a higher level of mirrorless from Nikonor I WILL change!
Comment from : Paul Marotta

Steinar Knai
I would like; around 50MP resolution, class leading AF equal to or better than the R5, first class EVF, 4K 30/60/120, 8K is of no use to me and most of all; in the market for the Tokyo OLYMPICS There is no reason why the price should be higher than the D6, the R5 is much less expensive!!!
Comment from : Steinar Knai

green pale
Thank you for detailed picture, this might be the first mirrorless body with famous format card without menu buttons Only thing I want from modern era is the sensor that rotate inside the body for vertical shots
Comment from : green pale

Mary Doo
For my consideration, Z9 must have improved motion tracking accuracy over that of the Z6 and Z7
Comment from : Mary Doo

Dr Leo Barco
Thanks x your input I’m a little baffled that you didn’t comment on the autofocus helping light that it is located at the top right front part of the camera
Comment from : Dr Leo Barco

ThisMonoLife
With it having the video features I would like to see a flip out screen and one that can be twisted to protect it when not in use
Comment from : ThisMonoLife

jm f
Great to have the AF mode button back in its place, more accessible than on the right hand, which is quite busy, also more reachable when you support the camera by the lens (a need on the Z7)! brOn the other hand, I would like to have a better placed AF illuminatior (the one in the Z7 tends to be obscured by the left hand, either supporting brthe lens or the camera) maybe this is the case (I see something on the right-hand cluster -- counted from back of camera - user side)
Comment from : jm f

dance2jam
Wish List for Z9: First - a trickle down Z8 with similar features but less pricey equivalent to the D850 For Z9 - based on my shooting 46 megapixels Excellent low light performance Excellent resolution EVF with quick, non-sticky refresh rate and updated image FPS of 20 or higher True silent shooting (weddings/events/wildlife) Global shutter and higher sync allowable sync speeds Better low light performance (S/N ratio) Long battery life Two CF Express b card slots Scalable shooting (lower resolution if desired) Many highly programmable buttons Lit button function Improved animal and human eye autofocus Easy menu system IBIS only if it adds significant functionality, DR, and doesn't increase cost of purchase or repair much There's more, but that's a start
Comment from : dance2jam

BatMo
I hope they won't forget us, the people who need a 20-30mpx sensor A lot of people were saying " Why don't you get a D850 and use the medium size Raw?" And the answer is that some may not want to pay a big amount of money for a feature they won't use
Comment from : BatMo

Peter Porter
I'd like it to have in-body GPS
Comment from : Peter Porter

Mike Heller
I noticed the green dot for two-button reset and the format button (label) as well The current Z cams don't have that and I miss those from my DSLRs
Comment from : Mike Heller

Soviet Lens Reviews
Would love to see 8k60 😍 Or, failing that, 4k120
Comment from : Soviet Lens Reviews

Richard Fisher
animal / bird eye focus
Comment from : Richard Fisher

Roy Bixby
An EN-EL18 battery in the Z9 will be fantastic for a mirrorless camerabrI miss the illuminated rear buttons on my Z cameras
Comment from : Roy Bixby

Jack Willson
Come on Ricci, you know we know you know the specs
Comment from : Jack Willson

LightningAssaultcom
Very excited that Nikon is keeping up Just hope they can deliver it in time
Comment from : LightningAssaultcom

Dilip Patel
I would like to have U1 U2 U3 modes to do complete customizations without leaving some important features like drive modes as in Z6 Canon 90D does this already Very informative video Keenly looking forward to Z9's arrival Thanks
Comment from : Dilip Patel

John Bean
Focus bracketing so captures several frames focused, and either side of focus point Maybe even built in focus stacking brES2 Film Digitizing Adapter Set and z equivalent of Micro Nikkor 60mm f28G ED Lensbr105mm Macro that gets closer detail of, for instance, insect eyes
Comment from : John Bean

Aditya
Man that looks so promising 👍🏼
Comment from : Aditya

Leandro Ngo
The only thing I'm wary of is by virtue that it's a high megapixel camera, it's not going to be on par or better than the D6 on low light
Comment from : Leandro Ngo

PhotoZen
Why the hell Nikon is following the crappy "want to be pros" and sucked in the 8K, who the hell needs an 8K in a camera meant to be rough enough to be thrown against the wall and remains intact in the midst of shooting a football game, ……8K means freaking IBIS…hell more moving parts more damage and breaks…Keep the bloody 8K for the Z8
Comment from : PhotoZen

Isotech images
The current Z cameras are bomb proof, trust me l have tested my Z6 more than l wanted to and the Z9 will be even tougher I am sure we all want eye auto for wildlife not just domestic animals but with that they need to go back to dual back button focus capability like the Canon R5 and R6 to make the most of it
Comment from : Isotech images

Meat Carbs Coffee
Flip screen like the R5, and autofocus like the R5 and A9 More function buttons, built-in GPS
Comment from : Meat Carbs Coffee

Stephen Pitts
Most detailed analysis/commentary of the new Nikon Flagship by far Super helpful
Comment from : Stephen Pitts

Jellosquat
Wonderful news, but overkill for me I only take stills and never shoot machine gun style Z7ii more my speed
Comment from : Jellosquat

Jason Collette Photography
Ideally the focus factoring that canon and Sony have All the bells and whistles don’t really amount to much if the focusing system isn’t fast and accurate
Comment from : Jason Collette Photography

Elliot_LM
Wishlist: Superfast Eye AF, 5G fast wireless tethering to iPad/Laptop Touch AF tracking No 30 min recording limit, no 8K overheating 4K 120 no pixel binning, Quick APSC Mode good Image stabilization, Nikon legendary color science and tone/microcontrast
