I'm frequently copying 20-100 GB files between my laptops and servers at home The 1000 Mbps RJ-45 port limitation really slows things down, considering the SSD's these days manage 2 GB/s transfers Copying a 100 GB file between two m2 SSD HDDs takes like 5-10 sec, but if that m2 SSD HDD happens to reside on another laptop it takes forever, like 5-10 minutes to transfer a 100 GB file in a 1000 Mbps LAN network IOW, these laptop network cards has not developed since my Dell Precision 6500 from 2010 It has the same LAN speed (1000 Mbps) as my Dell Precision 7750 Now, that's a disgrace

I just upgraded to 10 gig well worth the $$$ for streaming from my HomeLab to the tv, laptop or my cell

Does that 25GB port work with a 25GB switch?? I have found that those 25GB ports do not work with 25Gb switches

Its not just about the internet, brit will be faster for your local servers like NAS, plex and other stuff

Also your old vs newer hardware makes a difference as well I had an old WRT with only 100mb plugs-moved up to a newer Netgear with 100mb plugs as well-it did deliver faster packets because it had an updated and faster cpu brbrI tried the 25g pc adaptor shown here and worked on 2 of the 3 PCs running Win7 But they slowed down and the PCs kept complaint about lost packets I think The other just flat out BSOD every time I connected the cable to itbrbrSo I dropped back down the 1g spec-I figure my Linksys router was pushing back on thembrbrNice video though, thanks!

here in Spain the standard is still 300mbps, and 600mbps, but gigabit is hella expensive The router companies give us also tend to be the most basic and cheap they can get, with a really bad connection 5G barely reaches longer than 5m²
