I've got a thin Ryzen 5 2500U laptop, and on low 1600 x 900 i can play games at a steady 60FPS, and this is with a 8mm Thick cooler and fan, at 76-79c I'm kinda surprised by it

ive got a MSI Cyborg 15 with i5 12450H 4060 16GB ram, the battery only lasts 1 hour 30 minutes while installing red dead and playing 10 minutes of it Battery low i can tell this is going to be a PAIN!! the sound not so good either

I don't really have the space or money for a big rig gaming pc while people like there graphics I am not as picky with graphics or even how loud the machine is as long as it functions and will last a few years and play most basic games I don't 200 fps if the game is playable than I am good aiming for 60 fps and above if it can do fancy graphics cool but I am fine with medium and even ultra low graphics settings brbrpersonally I wish a company would do some high functionality laptop build that skims out the laptops design and focuses more on hardware i don't like or need RGB stuff low cosmetics more hardware and something with at least 1TB storage I notice a lot of laptops only getting M2s with only 256 or 512GB I don't think companies understand how big games are now with Call Of Duty, Ark: Survival Evolved being well over 150GB you can its kind of ridiculous how big some of them are getting I would like to at least stick a couple large games in there and have room for updates for example my current Laptop only has 120gb of SSD storage and Windows hogs like half the SSD and continues chewing at it with every update but its lasted me 3 years so I would say its fairly reliable even though its been beat up quite a bit

As a student studying overseas, i regretted heavily for owning a desktop pc as I can't bring it with me due to inconveniences and potential extra financial charges to get it transportedbrbrUltimately, I got myself a decently priced gaming laptop to game on the games I still cared But one thing for sure is, if i had not built the pc, I would've saved those money as it's currently just collecting dust in my hometown 🥲brbrbrHence, guys, please really think rationally between owning a PC and gaming laptop If you are tentatively having plans to go overseas for studies that is definitely lasting at least 4 years and you are a passionate gamer, JUST BUY A GAMING LAPTOP Until today i still lowkey hate myself for building that PC, and there's a great likelihood that I'm staying back for the purpose of finding myself jobs rather than going back to my hometown Sigh

No gaming laptops suck really bad I have a 3060 laptop and a 3060 desktop everything the same except the cpu the laptop had a 12 gen i7 the desktop has a ryzen 9 5950x Dragon quest for example run at times less than 50 fps on the laptop and 144 fps on the desktop no i dont care if the laptop run at 144 fps but less than 60 fps that garbage Yes both have 64 gig of memory And the kicker is the laptop has half the vram only 6 gigs wth i can't upgrade that The other thing is these laptop monitors run at 144 hertz well there not a 120hrz so in some game it breaks the fps like froza 5 it runs at 48 72 and 144 hrz no standard like 30 or 60 Fallout 4 can't do 60 because of this it runs at 48 fps no fix force it to 30 well it goes to 24 fps all because it did not have a 120hrz option Oh yeah you can't change that out either Yes gaming laptops suck and suck bad!

No the gpu Always has half the vram as an actual card So a 3060 normally has 12 gigs a laptop equivalent has 6 gigs this is cheaping out try games on 6 gigs lol it sucks A 1660 has 6 gigs a old low end gpu

The prices of GPUs and CPUs and heck even the desktop case are expensive, it would take me atleast 15 or 2 years of saving up money to buy and build a desktop im generally satisfied with and thats not including the setup I decided im gonna be buying a gaming laptop instead (Rog Zephyrus M16 2022) next month because it has all i need in just one machine and me and my brother desperately one lol

When I want to play split screen games at my friend's house on his tv it's easier to set up my laptop to his tv than setting up a playstation Assuming you have enough income to buy a laptop worth a damn I would say it's worth it I spent $1100 on my laptop that has the performance of something I could have built for like $900 at the time so assuming you shop smart it's not too big of a loss, but on that same note you could build a pc for around $350 that would have far better performance than even a $600 gaming laptopbrbrAlso laptop docks are rad as hell

I do recommend a gaming laptop, but from my personal experience, don't get an acer The screen breaks super easily, it heats up like crazy, it has a short battery life, and after a while it just stops working Plus I hate windows anyways, so i would rather spend the extra two thousand dollars for a MacBook
