Unless you wanna dive into ray traced grames (all 4 of them), I think the 1660Ti devices are sweet spot this year Whatchu think?

I am still using my alienware 15 R3 laptop with a gtx1070 and an intel I7 7thgen and it still holds up today but with some games that Nvidia thinks it can run at max settings it can't when the fans pick up and go nuts I do have my laptop set up so it can have airflow under it and it still gets very hot but that's how most gaming laptops are in my experience

RT dont interst me Dlss is good stuff and main reason i got rtx 2070super is i wanted my laptop have similar pref as my ryzen 1600, gtx 1080 16 gb pc preformance I end up with triton 500 i7 10750h, rtx 2070super , 32 gb ram ( need for VM ) and 1tb nvme wd be sn750 ( ill buy another 1 for raid) and 300Hz ( only for comfortable work on it and its great )

Just frickin buy the reasonably best you can afford to be able to play the game you want NOW and be happy with it If you keep waiting for the "best", you'll end up waiting forever Everything current will be obsolete one day and there are thousands of engineers who are working against you to make that happen

Before I picked my laptop choice which is the 2019 helios 300, I had to decide and pick which to get between the 1660ti, rtx 2060 or the rtx 2070 maxq version And i'm glad that I picked the 1660ti configuration of the helios 300 since not only u can save some money but I am satisfied with the performance and it provides great value as well

What if you're wanting to buy into it for the GPU power and not necessarily for Ray Tracing? Saving up for something this powerful is a huge hit to the budget I'm on a 2011 MBP and am JUST now looking to upgrade, so I personally look at this as a "future proof" investment, I plan to have the device for several years I'm just afraid some of the older 10 series will not be able to run games as well in the future (with out ray tracing even) I dono It's such a hard decision because I've found some pretty darn nice 2060 and 2070 laptops in the price range of 1070 and even 1080 systems, so it's like Hmm, which should I go with when there's only a 100 - 300 dollar difference

You are totally ignoring the advantages of RTX graphic cards for content creation The new implementation of real time raytracing in software like Maya, substance painter, and render engines are something to consider, at least for professional usage

the RTX laptops really are not worth it indeed, the only one maybe is RTX 2080, even that runs RTX stuff ok but not great so all the other ones 2070 and 2060 is even worse, and as more time passes games get more needy specially with RTX so technically its better to wait for 3000 series gpu laptops atm better get 1070 or 1660 ti that are really good price to performance machines

Just purchased the Acer Predator 500 AMD model for US$1299 on Amazon USA - that's a US$600 cash saving - added more RAM and a Hybrid HDD all for significantly less than available in Hong Kong - just hope have no issues as will be a pest to send back to Amazon
