SS Baychimo is my favourite! It was abandoned in 1931 after getting stuck in ice, it was assumed to have sunk a few days or weeks after it was abandoned because typically ships don't last in that area with maintenance and repairsbrbrFor almost 40 years the SS Baychimo was seen drifting along the Beaufort Sea and sometimes people were able to board it and explore Some even tried to capture the ship but it somehow always evaded capture!brbrSS Baychimo was last seen in 1969 and it's most likely that it's finally rested on the sea floor but it's kinda cool to imagine a ship being able to survive on it's own for almost 40 years Comment from : bee |

The likely answer behind the Deering that I've seen is that she was caught in a hurricane, and the crew escaped in the lifeboats, getting picked up by another ship that was known to be nearby, and was promptly lost with all hands shortly after, taking the Deering survivors with itbrbrAlso, the Mar Sem Fin isn't a ghost ship, it needs to actively be lost with all hands for that, it's just a regular shipwreck otherwise Comment from : When Something Cries Again |
