I wanted to comment on your statement that the silver in the dump is essentially gone Well, it's not It might not be convenient to get to but it's still recoverable and perhaps one day, you'll have people going through dumps to do just that It's more accurate to say that virtually all of the silver that's been mined in human history is still around, just not immediately accessible perhaps I agree that "rarity" is a matter of perception As a lesser form of currency (as compared to gold), it does seem that it should retain its precious status as a trading currency/commodity

I love silver so much only thing i say when looking at the clock you missed one thing, silver is way less rare because of the known reserves Which was 18 million compared to 18 million gold, reserves go up way slower than already mined metal Also at the same time metal is not a renewable resourse on earth so there might be more reserves of silver than we will ever find in gold on the planet

Its not a question of which is or not rare its the value I question there is 19 times more silver than gold in the (local Mine AKA the Earth) and an 8x ratio in Silver/gold mining so there should be a value based on that but the Price is not a 19-1 element ratio or 8-1 mine production ratio So just by the math the real question nobody will answer is this : is gold overvalued? or silver undervalued? one seems to be asque which is it?

I love silver but at any point in the next few decades up till 2050 if they figure out an alternative to silver industrial use would take a massive hit Switching over will be a long process for the industry but they will do it My current understanding is main reason silver still used in solar panels is because it’s easier to adhere than copper or other metals If this is true only thing they need to figure out is a adhering process that works on large scale manufacturing Yes silver price is being manipulated but if that last till they figure out a cheaper alternative it won’t really matter in the long run This of course is just my speculation and will hold for the foreseeable future but my enthusiasm for it is low to medium

When it comes to elemental metals on a planetary scale, "rare" is a really subjective term I mean, uranium is really rare, and worth a lot more, but it's really difficult to handle work with and trying to find a buyer could end up with multiple nations trying to find you Silver is rare enough, and easy and safe to deal with

Correct silver is not rare , it’s only rare with those people who have YouTube channel and have an interest in promoting silver for commission, there are millions ounce’s that are just stored and not used - surplus of silver all over the world not used , so on this occasion Peter is correct, so learn to live with it that silver is not rare, your solar panel scenario is wrong and your other things you mentioned be it phones, cars etc is also incorrect, obviously you must be a silver stacking or as I call it fool’s gold

Why isn't the price of Silver based on physical silver instead of both etf's and physical silver? brEtf's should be like stocks, when the physical price rises the etf's do but in no way should it affect the physical price Eventually when industry needs to buy silver for products etf's can't be used instead of silver to make their products

everything depends on how you look at it, I don't think silver will get much cheaper than it is now because that would mean a total reversal of the world's currencies but as long as demand is low and it is it will not be what we think it should be, people have gold and bitcoin so they have what they believe are better options for hedging currencies
