Im so glad i found this video i am subscribing! My roomate and i each bought a succulent a couple months apart from each other We both overwatered of course and they died So i bought us each a new one a month ago I had heard once a month watering so i learned about watering today They were SO DRY I bottom watered They are tiny plants in tiny plastic pots but i have the twrra cottas that the other ones came in Neither have holes so ill try to hand drill holes in them Now i have to figure out what each one is, summer or winter growing So much to learn but once you know, you know i guess

cut off any black roots because those are already root rot

if the soil is went u need to remove all soil and let it lay out to dry

Oh my goodness, I just damaged some roots of a jade plant (pulled them a little) when trying to repot without realizing they were the roots and panicked so hard It was only a little bit of them so hopefully they're okay Glad to know it's part of the process, will definitely NOT be watering for a while

Do you repot the succulent if it's leaves start growing over the edge? I have a type of echeveria and it's started growing past the edge of the pot I have it inbrbrI also have a succulent that has gotten tall and leans and I don't know if I need a deeper pot or not

Am I able to use pea pebbles as a bottom layer for larger pots? Seems like lots of wasted soil Some of my pots are so deep, but a good width

Great video and I learned a lot I have a question… yesterday I repotted a jade plant I followed your instructions to a “T” This morning I checked on it and the leaves and stems are becoming wilted I’m not sure what I need to do but I know you have an answer 😀 By the way, I grew up in Camden, Arkansas but moved to Dallas in the ‘70s I still have family and friends in Hot Springs and Camden Looking forward to your help/guidance

Thanks! I had no idea about the damaging the root and watering afterwards thing ! That's what I'm doing wrong ,I bet! I thought,why isn't she watering it ,it's super dry ( after potting) But when u said if u water it ,it could get root rot from the damaged root I did not know that! Thank you! Well, I learned something! I always message and loosen the root ball so that it will grow but of course things happen

Love the video! I'm just getting into potting succulents I've always loved them! I live in Arizona so it gets hot and dry fast Do you think that gently rinsing out the roots to loosen up the old soil and leaving the succulents out to dry is an ok idea before repotting?

I was given beautiful multiple succulent arrangement one of the plants is quite large and overshadows all other in pot it is tall and was told it is a pancake or flapjack ? How do I replant it outside with the other smaller and the snake plant

Great basic tips, which really help to be successful with succulents Terracotta versus glazed pots Terracotta is breathable, glazed are not Drainage holes are so important! Thanks, for your great tips

I’ve learned that it’s helpful to use gloves to handle the succulents due to them being affected by the oils in our skin I used to have a living stone plant, and it didn’t like being touched

I love your videos! 💕 I have been a succy owner now for 6 months, and I think it's time to go back to the basics and see what I've forgotten I have a few plants I'm struggling to keep happy so want to know what mistakes I might be making One question, the first plant you repotted had that brick-like old soil that I encounter frequently I got advice in the fb groups that it's good to break up the 'brick' with chopsticks to try to remove as much old soil as possible since the old soil may be hydrophobic, among other reasons But it seems from your video that it may not be necessary? Do you usually leave the old soil if it's not loose? Thank you! 🙂

I have some hens and chicks that were given to my mom in 1963 They were in the same pot until the 80s and put into a new pot and now, that pot is disintegrating and the plants are over growing over the pot The crazy thing is they are never watered and have been through winters here in Michigan since 63 How do i transplant them into a new pot? Help!
