Question: how hard is it to learn a foreign language? How does a deaf person do that? Do all languages have a sign version? Okay that was three questions lol I just think it must be really hard for a deaf person to learn how to speak a different language but what do I know?

Fun fact: different countries have different sign languages, not just spoken languages! For example American sign language isn’t 100 the same as British sign language, even for the same words pronounced & spelled the same in the spoken & written English language And obviously, American sign language and Chinese sign language for example are different, as there are vocabulary from both Chinese and English that can’t even be parallel-translated into each other So since sign languages are different from one another, deaf people & mute people can also learn different sign languages!

I learnt to fingerspell in Auslan (the sign language for were i live) in case i ever met someone who was mute/deaf and in case my tinnitus ever got to the point it was constant
