X Y Mori Intus
The premium is only an issue when you're buying very small amounts It doesn't necessarily apply when you buy at least $10 face value at a time
Comment from : X Y Mori Intus

Robin Rosenberg
That's BS Junk silver should be sold by weight - 90
Comment from : Robin Rosenberg

Kenneth Frankiewicz
Great video Silver Seeker ❤
Comment from : Kenneth Frankiewicz

John Smith
Because it has years and mint marks and makes it more historical and interesting I mean for all you know the President of the United States or a governor or something used/spent them or had them in his/her pocket!!brbrPersonally I think collecting generic silver (bars/rounds/etc) would be boring :(
Comment from : John Smith

John & Whitney Kokalis
Britianias are a great Sovereign coin to stack And a great price
Comment from : John & Whitney Kokalis

Envi

May of 2023 three LCS in my area only offered melt ($18ish if I remember) when i tried to liquidate - I passed, luckily i was only trying to downsize not make money, but i was extremely disappointed, i assumed I'd easily get well over spot - I think the DCA on my constitutional is around $25
Comment from : Rich Garcia

Jamie Hughes
I think the term junk silver should only be used for coins that are just completely scratched and wornbrbrThat are 50 or less silver
Comment from : Jamie Hughes

don haddenham
HEY BUBBA, WHY DO YOU INSIST ON MEASURING 90 SILVER BY WEIGHT, THEY ARE COINS UNLESS YOU ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO MELT THEM DOWN, WTSHTF GOOD LUCK ON TRYING TO PASS OFF YOUR ROUNDS OR 10 OZ AND 100 OZ BARS WITHOUT DRILLING AND ASSAYING THE RESULTS IN A BACK ALLEY WHEN YOUR WANTING A SACK OF POTATOES

THG Driver
Old news, I noticed about 8 months or so ago the the Britannia's were the best deal going for about the last year The security features are the best too In fact it's all I have been stacking for the last 8 months or so There is no way I am paying 18 to 25 dollars over spot for ASE or any other Silver bullion😀
Comment from : THG Driver

Ronald Bergstrom
Oops sell 😮😂
Comment from : Ronald Bergstrom

Ronald Bergstrom
How much is being paid for the junk silver if you want to see
Comment from : Ronald Bergstrom

Mark Voelker
When you form the bulk commodity into money its value increases because its utility increases No one questions this for commodities other than gold and silver because it’s obvious and because there has not been decades of propaganda trying to convince people otherwise in the cases of other commoditiesbrFor example “the” price of wheat is about 15 cents per pound when you buy 5,000 bushels on the exchange, but 60 cents per pound when you buy a 5 pound bag of flour at the supermarket, and no one complains they are getting ripped off with the “high premium over spot” for wheat 60,000 bags of flour offered at retail is worth more than 5,000 bushels of wheat FOB the ComexbrSimilarly for silver and gold: 13,000 dimes are worth more than a 70 pound block of 999 silverbrIf you think otherwise you have been victimized by central bank propaganda
Comment from : Mark Voelker

Ida Herring
Seeker I would like to know your feelings on 40 Kennedys
Comment from : Ida Herring

hosehead
Stop paying this stupid premiums people
Comment from : hosehead

Daniel Dwyer
Hey, SilverSeeker Yes, the premiums are high But, the real question is, what would a local coin shop pay to buy our 90 silver coins If they are only offering $4 over spot, just not worth selling Maybe you can do a call video soon to ask and get a going rate Thank you in advance
Comment from : Daniel Dwyer

shiny shinyman
Definitely some of these “junk silver” may have numismatic collectible value too which makes them desirable
Comment from : shiny shinyman

Jack Speer
I'm 5:40 in and here are my thoughts as to why the premiums are going so high 1) Uncle Sam has not minted this stuff since 1964 and has no plan to return to it 2) a lot of it has been melted over the years 3) being a finite supply, as more folks buy it, the remaining available coin count diminishes 4) of all PM this is the most recognizable, thus the most easily barterable for these reasons, I believe premiums on this will continue to rise and easily surpass all other forms of silver bullion
Comment from : Jack Speer

LoneWanderer360
My local shop is charging $15/oz premium for 90 currency but only $5/oz premium for one ounce rounds
Comment from : LoneWanderer360

CRossSta
There's a reason that no one wants the "King" Charles obverse BritanniabrbrI wouldn't buy them if they were selling them AT SPOT
Comment from : CRossSta

Jon
I just inherited 66 Franklin half dollars But I don’t see a mint park I noticed the price varies in them depending on mint/year Can anyone help me out ?
Comment from : Jon

Comment from : Billy Smith

Comment from : Bob Masencup

Comment from : leanne novak

funstuf86
Yes junk silver is easy to barter with and has good value But in the ancient times of Rome there was something called coin clipping and help stopping fakes from creating Anything that is silver you can barter with silver shot, sterling silver silverware, and more
Comment from : funstuf86

John Barney
So anything pre 65 dimes quarters and half dollars ARE getting harder to come by Know why? Because coin dealers "for years" send those coins to be melted down Dealers have been doing this for years which means those coins are becoming harder to come by I have been dealing in junk silver for twenty-two years and believe me, dimes quarters and half dollars are getting harder to come by as compared to twenty years ago brI have never ever heard of anybody who produce fake dimes, quarters and half dollars nor have I seen one It is toooo troublesome for anybody to fake those coins for many reasons
Comment from : John Barney

Spocks Brain
You talk a lot but say very little Stay on topic 90 of what you said has nothing to do with the topic
Comment from : Spocks Brain

Asher Kobin
Sorry for sounding obvious, but if we ever get to the point of using silver to buy stuff, don't you think people will be making their own fractional coins? Private mints are already making them Yes, a high premium but they're 100 silver and there's no debate about "wear" and the presence of copper Also if it gets really bad, people will cut their coins into quarters or eights So I say "Change My Mind, don't buy 90 silver coins"!!
Comment from : Asher Kobin

Blind Sight
The last time silver ran up the charts a few years ago, I went to sell $150 face value of 90 and nobody would give me anything over spot; in retrospect, they were paying $5-$6 over spot for generic rounds 😂 It hurts so bad, knowing what we know now!

Comment from : Joshua Nelson

Donald Guillemette
I have heard reports of warehouses, in the past, holding truckloads of 55 gallon barrels, filled with constitutional silver, headed for the Melting Pot And this happened for years and years when nobody cared about well-worn constitutional silver Now if you buy a bag of constitutional silver much of it is very worn and slick Most people are now cherry picking the nice quality 90 coins I don't have much 90 silver but what I do have I bought it way back when it was $11- $13 per face I feel pretty confident that the price of 90 will continue to go up Like the nice gentleman said in this video, they're not making any more
Comment from : Donald Guillemette

Norman Plombe
You people keep talking about silver (real) values in terms of dollars (fictional) Silver is valued in mass and purity You people do NOT understand silver
Comment from : Norman Plombe

Ann Williams
My budget is such that I am only able to add about $30 face value in junk silver per month, against the dollar collapse I have two questions: (1) How much is enough? (2) How would you split it up (dimes, quarters, halves, etc)?
Comment from : Ann Williams

Chris Floto
I think the collectibility of junk silver out weighs the purity
Comment from : Chris Floto

Team Lynch BMD
Terrific video, thanks for sharing, I prefer real coins over rounds even at a premium

Robin J
WOW!brWith premiums like that, I'm surprised there are not many more "Duplicate" of US silver coins coming in from overseas makers!brAll you need is a coin press, the planchets and dies!brAnd there is all sorts of info and data our there on "How To" make coin dies using the "Explosive Impact" method brBEWARE FOLKS!
Comment from : Robin J

Robin J
Yup!br"Constitutional Coin" is the only accurate termbrI NEVER call these coins "junk"!brWho is going to invest one, two or $5,000 in "junk"?????brThe trouble is, todays younger folks have NEVER been taught the Constitutional or what is in it!
Comment from : Robin J

EJ Grant
I think the 90 dimes will have higher premiums than quartes and half dollars soonWhen I 1st bought my 90 bags way back in the Y2K scare of the late 90's my dealer told the story of a "Little Old Lady" coming in to buy in the 1970's she INSISITED upon dimes only becuaseNobody has any money to make change in a DEPRESSION! Glad I sourced my holdings when I did! I'm good!👍
Comment from : EJ Grant

H
you have 5 standard ounces of 90 that is less than 5 troy ounces of the other bullion coins for 5 ounces thats a difference of almost 14 grams
Comment from : H

Comment from : Jeff Keller

I happen to have 3700 Benjamin Franklin half dollars from 1950 to 53 does anybody want to buy them
Comment from : Larry Adams

Scoondog
I think junk will come down a little before it goes back up and stays there
Comment from : Scoondog

M n
Another reason people are willing to pay higher premiums for 90 That’s it even at a high premium it still has a low cost per coin so for example when things were really tight and I only had $15 that I could afford to spend on silver Eagles, maples, Brittanies, even buffaloes were pretty much out of the question, but 90 silver dimes or no problem
Comment from : M n

The Boring Channel
If in barter mode something that will increasebrmore in value than silver/gold and be more desirable,brPRECIOUS METAL TESTERSbrStack those instead of metal, brwill be in far greater demand

Very well done video You had all the reasons why I have stacked and traded junk Silver for years! And why it will only continue to become rarer and more desirable, for all the reasons you've given! The Mint can always make more Eagles, but the mint isn't making junk Silver anymore! And what will that local farmer want to exchange for his crop or livestock? WHAT THEY KNOW AND REMEMBER 😮❤🔥🔔br☕✝️
