Comment from : @nivethanyogarajah1493

@patrickprucha5522
I have tried all the apps you mentioned I am now using obsidian for knowledge base It requires some organization of your data, but once done, obsidian is rather powerful and flexible
Comment from : @patrickprucha5522

@leblanc666666
joplin is fucking garbage, can't believe its still being recommended, I have so many damn simple trivial issues with it that it has wasted so damn much of my time that I feel its devs own my 1000$ for wasting my time on it Absolute GARBAGE
Comment from : @leblanc666666

@elijah_9392
Joplin does support self-hosted solutions such as Next Cloud
Comment from : @elijah_9392

@AstroFluid
Very nice useful Thanks for your time
Comment from : @AstroFluid

@noku8239
Still nothin that beats 25 markdown files clustered all over my system without any versioning or back or whatsoever 😤
Comment from : @noku8239

@ytuser13082011
I honestly love Trilium Notes [using it on self-hosted k0s kubernetes cluster] to the point I donate to it Just want to see awesome apps being worked on in a steady pace
Comment from : @ytuser13082011

@technenotes
Hi!! There is a new Linux native GTK open-source note-taking app called TECHNENOTES (which I am actively developing) Although there are multiple amazing note-taking app out there, I do think that TechneNotes has some strong points, starting from the database-like interface (with pagination, ordering, filtering, all combined with a treeview structure), the safety of local data storage with optional cloud sync (users choose if and how to sync data over the cloud), multi-tabs support with full-width note view, integration of text/files/images/videos as in a web-page, interconnected notes, standard markdown syntax (for cross-compatibility), and - most of all - its native (Gtk) and open source nature (thus ensuring that your notes will be fully accessible in the future, with no risk of vendor lock-in)
Comment from : @technenotes

@leonardcapillon4714
I personally use Trilium I can sync it between clients or with a server, can execute scripts inside it and have a pretty great wysiwig I was searching for a onenote replacement and I love it
Comment from : @leonardcapillon4714

Comment from : @RichardBronosky

@trinumedia
I will really miss the Onenote desktop experience - and the sync and pen taking from all other devices too No need for markdown, just note stuff Even from this review, none quite make the comparitive cut except maybe Evernote
Comment from : @trinumedia

@paramvir27
Keep
Comment from : @paramvir27

@imalonelynerd
Hi Nick ! Thanks again for your vids ! brTo answer your question at 2:23, I personally use Joplin with OneDrive for the simple reason that Microsoft never ported any of their Office apps to Linux, forcing me to use the web app version, which is downgraded in many ways
Comment from : @imalonelynerd

@DEESHOOM
Standard Note is also a good privacy focused note taking app
Comment from : @DEESHOOM

@asadsiddiqui4776
GTG, Zim and Vim are missing One would say vim is not a note taking app, but it can really be one I use vim for everything except may be video editing
Comment from : @asadsiddiqui4776

@matthewrease2376
Joplin uses Markdown and has Vi mode so that makes me happy
Comment from : @matthewrease2376

Comment from : @bogdahn689

@slavvoslava4694
Rednotebook not a thing anymore?
Comment from : @slavvoslava4694

@phucbinh9441
One that I would semi recommend is apostrophe Although, yes, it uses Haskell, it works just fine for minimalistic use, and synergies very well with gtk
Comment from : @phucbinh9441

@joaquinaldoney1625
Obsidian is hands down the best note taking app out there Linux or not
Comment from : @joaquinaldoney1625

@hoterychannel
Using trillium notes and, with all downsides, can't find any replacement It's web app on nodejs and desktop apps on electron with sync capabilities, but I'm happy with only server install - really no need for sync If it works in web browser
