Okay, suppose I put the stop price at like $500 and I put a limit price at $3000, what would happen? Comment from : Albert Norton Onymous |
|
I am confused why would the stop price not just trigger the sell I thought the limit price triggered a sell at that price or above For example if I wanted to stop my lost at 20 but thought there was a possibility I could secure higher profits at 275 I would set my Stop price at 2 and my limit price at 275 Am I thinking incorrectly about this? It helped Hope to see it again Comment from : HONDA TRUMP Ai |

Why don't these billion dollar generating platforms offer OCO trades?? The trader bleeds and can't take advantage of selling at profit or loss simultaneously No one is asking why platforms don't have OCO order option Comment from : ooo |

I hate being new at these thingsIf i wanted to place an order for ADA at (example) 50 and sell when it hits 100 automatically without going below 50 in the meantime, how is that accomplished? Or did I 100 not understand your explanation lol Thank you! Comment from : Mike Z |

Suppose ATOM is currently trading at $1025 per token, and I want to utilize a stop-limit-buy order to buy a relative dipbrbrI'm willing to buy ATOM if its price falls down to $965 (stop) with a limit of $960 (limit), so I place this open order to purchase the maximum amount of ATOM that I'm able to What does the spread of $005 mean here, and is $005 correctly referred to as the "spread"? brbrDoes the limit at $960 mean that I'm fine with spending all of my USD within the range of [965, 960]? In what event would that happen? I'm tempted to say that my order will execute instantaneously at $965 - 001 Would I not execute at $965-964 if and only if my order is at the bottom of the orderbook ie, the orderbook is so clogged up that I'm having to buy at 005 below my stop price?brbrI've been DCA-ing, and I wanted to include some more sophisticated trading techniquesbrbrThanks Comment from : Nathan Nguyen |

My goodness, your voice is so pleasant and calm, you could teach kids the stock market as a bedtime story :D Thanks for your excellent explanation on both selling and buying, too Comment from : Athena Keating-Thomas |

You have excelled at what so many other have failed at, providing a simple and concise explanation of a STOP LIMIT ORDER with the actual entering of your trades on the exchanges Buy/Sell entry boxes You would be surprised at how hard it is to find this Thank you! Comment from : Zeek Fitzroy |

Amazing video and the first to ever explain this properly I have a question am wondering is it possible to do this another way I will take your price chart for an example (although sadly I wonder if we will ever see a $240 ADA again) so let’s say I have $1000 and your chart shows ADA at 245 and I want to buy ADA at $210 Ok I know I can just put in a limit order for $210 but it might go lower, is there a way around this? Say I put a stop/buy order in with STOP at $210 and LIMIT at $2, so if it went down to $2 id pick up my ADA but if only went to $205 I wouldn’t, but at least I would catch it back up at $210? Is that a possibility? Comment from : Anna Virtanen |

Can you set a stop and limit order at the same time in Coinbase Pro? So that if it goes too low it'll stop my loss and the limit price so that it would sell that my preferred higher price I believe other exchanges can do this but I don't think so on coinbase Comment from : SPOKE |

the examples you gave make no sense to me, if you only have a 1 cent difference that you might as well just use a limit order, that way there is no chance the order will fail I am still learning but from my point of view this cannot be a real world example as it makes no logical sense in the way you showed it's use but i appreciate the info Comment from : eksine |

I don't quite understand the point of the stop limit approach to selling to reduce losses Why not just have a limit order to sell? What benefit is there in having the stop limit at $301 which triggers the limit order to sell at $300, rather than just having the limit order to sell at $300? Thanks Comment from : William Griffiths |
|
Very helpful for beginners Well explained Thank you! 🤙🏻🍺 Comment from : Luigi Clavarino |

I'm just a bit confused still Setting the price at 301 and 300, the 301 triggers (send to the market) the sell The 300 is the limit OK so could it sell at 30009 or will it only sell at the 300??? Also if it blows through both numbers do you risk it selling below the 300 (say 288)? Comment from : Lil Ditty |
|
Great video, thank you for an easy explanation Comment from : Gabriela B |
