so the best solution to use Canon EF full frame lens, L series on BMPCC is Metabone XL version to compensate all the crop factor ?brbrbut why Metabone XL version costs less than Metabone Ultra ?

I shoot full-frame glass on the 4k on a MB 64 for the widest view possible, but am also getting a 71 so I can maximize my telephoto collection It has nothing to do with lens compatibility, as my glass collection is all FF

it is really a difference in sharpness, but with viltrox the problem is that you have to "tune" it correctly This glass can be moved closer or further to the sensor That solves also a lack of sharpness in the infinity problem Great content! cheers!

I genuienly hate this video Your explanation is so unnecessarily convoluted that I'm surprised anyone learned anything from this video How the fuck can you define a speedbooster by saying "A Speedbooster is an adapter that allows you to use EF mount lenses on small sensors such as micro 4/3"?! This implies that anything other than EF>4/3 can NOT be a Speedbooster It's not about the mount, it's about the size of the sensor and the size of the image a lens produces, which you explain later in the video BUT this ugly statment was spoken nontheless The explanation that you've given at the END of the video should be at the BEGINNING, insted of the "a speedbooster is an EF>4/3 adapter" BS like what the actual fuck I'm sorry to be so blunt, you seem like a cool guy, but I just couldn't hold it when I heard it

Great video, but I am a little bit confused I have the Ursa mini 46k & BMPC6Kpro both with EF mount All my lenses are EF-mount & like you I also have the Sigma 18-35mm ART lens The issue I have is, I can't find speedboosters from EF to EF if I take a look on google? Can I only have a speedbooster if I have lenses that have a different mount, or? Please help ;-)

I didn't see the point spending all the money on a 4k and expensive lenses only to get a cheap glass in between that makes the quality worse, so I went with Metabones Don't forget the smallrig 2247, makes the whole setup alot more sturdy

I just saw another review that showed more play on the Metabones than on the Viltrox I believe the Viltrox might have less strict quality control The Metabones has details on their site about which model to choose since the sensor on the Lumix GH series have a thick filter on top while the Black Magic are thinner If I could, I'd get Metabones I can't

this is strange moment here at 7:22 top left corner, when u try to mount aps-c lens (crop factor 16) on speedbooster with crop factor 14 - there will be a vignette (the same as left bottom corner but a bit less) as aps-c lens smaller

very nice video, I remember when the metabones speedbooster was announced many photographers were very confused as to how it was possible for an extra lens to increase the aperture since all they new was teleconverters some even downright refused to accept it but actually those closeup lenses for macro stuff do the same thing, except with those you obviously loose the ability to focus on infinity anyway, thanks for explaining it so well, I hope no everybody has understood how it works

I know this was posted a year ago but thought I would share my experience: Just got the Viltrox ultra 71 for my GH5 camera I mounted a sigma 17-50mm apsc lens Extreme Vignetting at the 17mm widest zoom Slight vignetting still at the 28mm area I also noticed while panning the camera the vignetting sometimes increased, probably due to wobble/movement of the adaptor? I'm speculating that full frame lenses should eliminate vignetting but have not tried them Too bad a full frame zoom lens is double the price, and even a fast micro four thirds zoom lens is ridiculous

And for all those watching: The Viltrox is actually 068x They just use the 071x multiplier because it is more popular and customers can find it easily If you're a pixel peeper worrying about those edge distortions, most Hollywood feature films use Anamorphic lenses which cause a lot more distortions on the edges If they don't care, why should you?
