Great video I bought a new disc drive ribbon for under $5 and replaced in just a few minutes and I have no idea what I’m doing but it worked no error code and my disc drive works again

When you pull the ribbon cable out from under the power supply there’s like two little ears on the end going out on the left and right if I broke one of them off could that be why my disc drive isn’t working

My regular OG PS4 couldn't update 1050, it turned out to be completely related to the power supply or the ribbon underneath as stated in this video I had cleaned it out myself a few months back and I guess I didn't properly reconnect it Thank you for the suggestion as I am now able to play online again!

I had a console with a defected Blu-ray drive that presented the same error code when updating, it was booting straight to safe mode with all the options greyed out except option 7brI swapped the ribbon cable and BD from another working console and I installed a recovery update file 09Gb “ not the regular 465MB “ and it all went well brAfter the installation I swapped back the ribbon and BD and booted it up It worked as well brI’m not sure if it’ll keep working forever or until the next update but for now it seems fine

I was following along a tutorial of some bitch and they didn’t even mention how to remove the dvd ribbon cable and I ended up breaking the tabs off of both ends, so now i gotta fucking buy a new one and I already KNOW that its gonna be a pain in the ass to get the plastic off from the port to connect the new ones
