You can also set the pot in a dish of water and let it saturate the substrate from the bottom up

I think I finally found the cause for my cactus to turn somewhat brown/yellow at the base, bending over and shrinking from the middle part I had kept it on too low water for years! And perhaps because it didn't had gotten enough lightNow I have moved my cactus to a sunnier place and given it plenty of water I'll have to see if it will revive it!

That’s a nice myrtillocactus! That soil mix won’t work on anything really hydrophobic like Ariocarpus or Copiapoa since there’s a lot of peat moss, but myrtillocactus are very forgiving of even the worst mixes like miracle grow 😊
