I know this is 3 years old but I think to sum it up; running Cat 7 is like running a 4 inch fire hose, running Cat 8 is like running a culvert pipe throughout your house and the internet connection to your house is through a straw and likely will never even be equivalent to a garden hose So they probably will introduce Cat 14 and want 9 dollars a foot and tell you it's faster than a Teflon cheetah struck by lightning!!! I'm 50 years old and I can almost guarantee that "they" (who make money in wire sales) will create a new form instead of using ethernet Something like "World Wireless by Tesla" and make everyone upgrade to a WWT receiver🤣🤣🤣

There is hardly no difference in price! Throw that cat5e in the garbage! Always Always Always use cat6 or better If you are in an electricaly noisy environment, with lots of radio waves, better cable improves packet errors and helps keep the signal at 1Gbs over longer runs
