I’ve charged mine correctly and yet have had 7 controllers over the years due to them not being able to hold a charge after awhile I plug them into the PS4 with the official cord that came with it or I use the official ps4 charging dock not a 3rd party one Is there a way to reverse it so I get some battery life?brbrAlso I’m not sure if this is normal but I bought the Spiderman ps5 with a separate Spiderman ps5 controller and even with the light set to the most dim and all the features on the controller set to off like the haptic feedback and mic yet I only get like 3 hours of charge Is this normal? They’re both brand new and the battery life on them sucks which didn’t happen to the ps4 controllers until they were played for several hours daily for like 7 years now the ps4 controllers only hold like a half hour of charge

I mean it’s common sense you could do this as you literally use a usb cable to charge it so it’s obviously you could plug it into a usb plug been doing it since day one not everyone sits that close to there console, if you use a usb plug with the right voltage or don’t harm your controller at all I always use an iPhone usb plug it’s the right voltage to not mess up your controller

I came here to search for a solution but unfortunately there no easy solution which doesn't involve micro solderingbrI confirm i've just ruined my second ds4 it works only wirely and a chip on the motherboard just behind the battery becomes very hot to the touch when plugged so it's visibly shorted ,but i have an other DS4 and even a dualsence which i charge using the same charger so there must be different revisions for controllers it doesn't worth the risk to use it a fast charger

my ps4 broke cuz my aunt placed a drink on top of it and it wasnt turning on but the controller was fine can i use a transformer to charge my controller (idk what that thing is called but if you plug a charger in it with a different voltage it will not fry the controller)(edit i found out it was 5v and it wasnt frying the controller but thanks dude you helped me

My ps4 broke, so meanwhile I was using the controller on tablet, so I hot nothing to charge it with but regular smartphone charger 😢brBattery life was eventually dying untill it couldn't turn on Now that I have a new ps4 I hope it's only the battery and no fried board or something, to see if another battery from a broken controller with working battery can be replaced(soldering)
