quantum will never kill bitcoin since bitcoin is designed to have an average number of blocks per hour and if they are being generated too fast, the difficulty increases Comment from : Eli |

Hi Matt, thanks for the awesome content Your videos are very informative and you explain things beautifully I wonder if you may have suggestions on what some good ways may be to track crypto gains Is there software to do this? Or do we need to manually track purchase price and amount spent on excel etc Comment from : S |

We do have cold fusion it's just not going to see light of day because the world is governed by psychopaths It's not the only technology that's being suppressed Look up Staley Mayer who invited an engine that ran on hydrogen Unfortunately he got assassinated That's what happens when you threaten the establishment But getting back to Bitcoin Don't be so sure that quantum computers are way out there in the distance future Don't just settle for one or two opinionsbrHowever a more immediate threat to Bitcoin and humanity is World War 3 The way things are going it unfortunately may be in the near future Comment from : Wualli |

Bitcoin will keep moving forward Comment from : MrArrex |

Can engineers create a quantum computer that can guess my private keys? I feel like it’s completely possible In total, there are a total of (almost) 2^256 combinations of private keys It’s completely feasible a computer can guess the keys with software programmed to attempt every possible combination of characters I’m a Bitcoin maximalist but this thought is always in the back of my mind If someone could help clarify that would be great Comment from : Dread Pirate Roberts |
WILL IT? Your headline is FUD Comment from : Hawks Bill |

I find that there are 2 types of people when it comes to tech "prediction" The ones for whom everything is 3 years away, and the ones for whom everything is 100 years awaybrBut objectively, just 5 years ago, today's level of technological advancement would have been 30 years away for Quantum Computing and for many other technologies for the 100 years camp brMost "experts", said that Quantum Computing is not something we should be concerning ourselves with for at least 50 years And here we are 5 years later, and investments and interest have grown exponentially, seeing that things are closer than previously thought While there is no correct answer until it happens, today's level of advancement in many technologies would have been 50 years away for the 100 years camp just 5 or 10 years ago So I will have to disagree with your "prediction" Comment from : R2C2 |

Or as Michael Saylor said : you can attack the Bitcoin network with a Quantum computer and destroy the value of Bitcoin and you will lose Our you start to mine Bitcoin, get rich and secure the network 1000x fold Game theory Comment from : Sascha Sheva |
Thank you for sharing your knowledge Imagine a Quantum computer cracking your wallet's 24 seed phrase? Is it doable? Comment from : Luchador EMC |

Bitcoin is a discovery not an invention! shitcoins are flawed as you can't discover the same thing twice: Resistance to replicability itself Comment from : Skraggii |
Segwit is already quantum resistant as long as you don't reuse an address Can't calculate the private key if you don't know the public key Comment from : Westar |
Quantum computing is a legit concern But it is equally if not more of a concern for the fiat systems in place And as someone who reaches near absolute 0 everyday I can say it is expensive to do but not too hard Comment from : Shrimp and stuff |

Who decides what signature algorithm is used for Bitcoin? Since Bitcoin doesn't have a CEO or a corporation how is this decision made and enacted? Comment from : Ryan K |
Love your channel but you seriously need to study XRP because your subtle digs will alienate so many Not because they are unwilling to see the good and bad but because it shows you have not given it your full consideration What are your thoughts on the inflation deflation argument? I see hyper inflation as inevitable considering the fiscal policy but I see deflation preceding first Thoughts? Comment from : lentner3 |
I wonder when institutions will start reporting Bitcoin on their balance sheet Comment from : Will Tomorrow |
Hi Mattthank you for this video Quantum computing bothered me and this video was very insightful Comment from : Mark Dunetz |

Damn, XYZ is a whole coiner Comment from : isambo400 |
Right now BTC derivatives and quant traders are the big market manipulatiors The price action is algorithm driven Knowing this, makes me quite numb to the short term price Comment from : Harvey Mushman |
Thank you for the video My main takeaway is that quantum computing can be used to defend the network just as well as it can be used to attack it Comment from : Robert Johnson II |
Also assuming normal people will ever own Quantum computers in the next century - they will not It's just a non-story currently It is like fusion and antimatter lots of test rigs nothing that actually achieves anything useful yet And assuming Bitcoin miners won't pursue their own anti-quantum tech is evidently ridiculous that they won't keep up Comment from : Michael Kavanagh |
Thanks for another great presentation! I appreciate the time and effort you spend on the education for us 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Comment from : KSWonder |
Really!!?!? You think it can! 😄 i hope ill not see you again Comment from : นาจารีย์ คณารักษ์ |
That being said - I don't worry about it Comment from : P D |
Wouldn't the quantum technology just get integrated by the miners like their hardware has done over the past 12 yearsstarted with using only a PC and now far more advanced hardware is needed I mean the argument itself that Quantum will destroy Bitcoin is a ridiculous one Hence why it uses POW (Energy) for its security brbrPerhaps maybe the question should be can Quantum technology destroy any of the AltCoins using POS? Comment from : Kodi Dude |
Since your Bitcoin address is not your public key, Bitcoin is inherently Quantum resistant The address comes from the public key which goes through 2 separate hash functions So a Quantum attacker wouldn't have a place to start, since the public key which is connected to the private key is not revealedbrbrI believe that in Bitcoin, your public key is revealed only when you spend a transaction which is another reason to use separate addresses for each transaction Comment from : MintChocolateChip |
Speaking of how the blockchain is "a list of who owns what" that is my answer whenever it is said that Bitcoin just sits there and yields nothing Wrong It yields all network transaction data which is verifiable by anyone and can be altered by no one The price reflects the value of that end product Comment from : Lord Binky |
How about the reverse question in more detail? Can Quantum computing help bitcoin either from a speed, processing logic, security, mining, or energy? Comment from : G H |
Lol This reminds me of some of the hypothetical conversations my friends and I would have in high school like "Batman vs Spider-man: Who wins?" Some arguments for Batman would be that he could take time to train and research about Spider-man to possibly gain the advantage, but the counterargument was always, "Well what do you think Spider-man is doing all his time, sitting on his ass?" So hopefully, as you say, any threat quantum computers would pose in the future would be offset by more powerful protective measures Comment from : Skybound FPV |
Bitcoin is open source software The programmers must work together and agree on updates, correct? All these programmers have skin in the game and will work together to secure the network more and more as time goes on Making Bitcoin stronger as time goes on Comment from : BURSAMAN |
Maybe this is not the right video for me to post this comment But you sir have changed my life for the better, thanks to your videos and your books I can say that I have become a better trader, and more financially responsiblebrMy financial futures doesn’t look as grey anymore, thank you for passing on all your great knowledge Comment from : Wilfredis Castillo |
I have been wondering about this for soo long Comment from : Oddvar Austrått |
Are quantum computers always going to be 10 years away? Comment from : todmann67 |
Bitcoin was tanking this morning so I couldn't hardly wait for your daily video to restore my confidence With that being said, I am aware that cognitive bias can distort our views so I try to also listen to those with a negative opinion of bitcoin So far there are no overwhelmingly compelling negative arguments against BTC brI was listening to Lyn Alden, and she brought up a scenario that what would happen if the US, or UK would disallow banks to do business with crypto exchanges?brThis has happened with smaller counties but not the elephants in the roombrAny thoughts or opinions? Comment from : Dan Wilhelm |
Quantum Computing will be interesting when it gets here one day Comment from : JD Wagner |
The people who bring up the quantum computing concern probably have no idea what a quantum computer is or how it works, not even on the surface Matt, do you think that a larger block size would eventually be in the conversation as our computers are able to hold much more data and as quantum signatures may be necessarily utilized? I think if a larger block size could eventually be introduced at some point without sacrificing decentralization Comment from : das boot |
because the COBOL systems currently underpinning the Financial world would outperform blockchain in a Quantum environment Comment from : Jack Brown |
You went to Stanford Now all your knowledge and the simple way you present things makes sense Thank you again for sharing your great knowledge to the rest of us Comment from : sean farias |
If quantum computing becomes functional and gets misused, why would they go for bitcoin, when they can go for a much bigger pot such as financial and military institutions We have a much bigger problem to deal with at that point Comment from : Jay L |
if quantum computing becomes widespread and practical, btc will simply adjust and incorporate quantum-based encryption Comment from : SDsc0rch |
For the algo Great content as usual, Matthew Comment from : ExNihilo |
Hi Matt, I love watching your videos and am a big fan of bitcoin However, a couple of concerns I have is that if everyone views bitcoin as an asset that will appreciate, and thus wont spend it, how will it function as a currency (eg as a medium of exchange) Moreover, lots of bitcoin is controlled of very few individuals - do you think this poses a risk of manipulation? Thanks Comment from : Tyler Edwards |
Love these videos! Comment from : Rich |
First! I believe that Quantum Computing will enhance the blockchain Comment from : Gerald B |
