My suspicion of me having ADdHD grew when I spent 3 months without my smartwatch🙈 even having a phone with reminders always with me did not help to do some work tasks in time🤦🏻♀️brI have two calendars: digital for time-sensitive and repetitive things, paper for goals and non time-sensitive Reminders on the watch make my life so much easier😅brQuick tip: if you have a busy schedule mark the time for eating and set a reminder! Why am I crying at the part about the laundry? 😢 it’s because I feel so SEEN It’s not about disliking laundry, or being lazy, or even being overwhelmed with laundry It’s about the frustration that comes with trying to prioritize “simple” household tasks and get chores done, but always feeling like you’re drowning (and not just under laundry 😅) Comment from : Alyssa |
The only thing I’m glad of is that ADHD appeared after I finished my undergrad Sending my prayers to all who are struggling with it Please know that you are not alone and you guys are so strong you will make it through Comment from : Sanaa Moha |
thank you so much!! I used to think that there was no way I had adhd because I was an okay student, but now I realise I was already doing what you're saying in this video (diving the task into steps) and I had a tight schedule, but now that I'm no longer in high school I find it so hard to do things, to manage my time When you said "out of sight out of mind" I was like yes finally someone gets it! in high school I had my arms covered in writings reminding me of stuff I had to do Comment from : Angelica Heredia |
Thanks for extremely valuable content-we appreciate it There are several good books on ADHD-2 oldies I found to be helpful are: "You Mean I'm NOT lazy, crazy, or stupid?" And-"Driven by Distraction"-an early evidence based book that generated a lot of interest Books can help a lot Comment from : Joseph |
My "planner" is emails in my inbox and things on top of the table, or by the door I know what I have to do by quickly glancing around me And yes, I do have a job with a lot of responsibility, but I buy beautiful planners that I use for a couple of days, keeping the unfinished tasks at plain sight is what saves me at all times! Comment from : E V |

Maybe that is why I have always kept multiple clocks throughout the house? Even when I was in my late teens, I had an obsession with clocks! Comment from : Aimee |
ADHD aside, lol, I'm still a bit baffled by how multi-step time management, adding up timed tasks, doing multiple math equations to form a schedule, etc, is expected to be automatically processed and understood internally in the dominant culture (yet we learn multi-step math equations on a chalk board, with pen and paper, etc) Time management is rarely taught or collaboratively discussed in the everyday, in school, or in training for any job I've had It's expected to be handled very personally I feel this should change to be more inclusive of neurodivergent people and also people with different cultural understandings of time Additionally, I am hard pressed to believe that neurotypical people never, ever struggle with multi-layered time management There seems to be an overall over-privacy and shame/punishment around it in Western culture, at least in the US, serving to re-enforce certain power differentials, eg between those who make the schedule and those who follow it, etc Comment from : K Krussel |
I cried immediately when I watched your first video, I got so frustrated to only understand now my problem I’m also feel mad at my parents for never have noticed that I need help Since my childhood I give them so many signs that I was in need of help but they never paid attention on me! My life could have been much better now, I could be successful our at least more productive Right now I’m 32 dealing on my own with this problem all by myself, it’s hard and it’s only getting worse brI need seek for help before I waste my entire life Comment from : Blu Morningstar |
Add kids in the mix and you’re even more screwed 😓 Could barely take care of daily life for myself, but taking care of two young kiddos without an ounce of help is difficult (to say the very least) I constantly feel like I’m drowning, but dammit I will always try to keep a positive attitude going for my babies Comment from : Kelsey Davis |
