the end result is beautiful but only this epoxy resin is very expensive and too weak for a stress-prone area such as a countertop or table a lot of expense but too delicate with the same investment a solid granite or marble top is made and it is done for eternity lately I also see floors made with this technique the cost is higher than laying common tiles, but after a few weeks the condition of the epoxy resin is very bad even a very cheap tile lasts much longer than any type of resin Comment from : MikeAlphaXray84 |

Unfortunately you didn’t address durability - counters are working surfaces, and you didn’t address cost It may be very cost effective to achieve the look of stone without changing counters or purchasing solid surface or stone but it would be very disappointing and expensive if after the labour and product costs those glossy surfaces were easily cut or scratched by typical kitchen utensils or burnt by hot pots pans or dishes Otherwise fun to watch and Im sure a wide variety of good looks can be achieved with this method Comment from : Michael Ratcliffe |

Just would like to say that this counter top is not your conventional melamine kitchen countertop It doesn't have the front rounded off edge and the raised backsplash with the rounded off edge So it leaves me to wonder how this kit would complete a typical melamine countertop with rounded off edges How do you do something like that with this kit Comment from : Butterfly |

Maintenance issues:br- Heat resistance So long as you don't sit a hot frying pan onto the surface, epoxy generally does a good job of heat resistance For example, boiling water pot seated onto the counter does just finebr- Stain resistance Generally, very good Certain items, such as mustard and tumeric, are problematic The longer such stains are left on the counter, the lighter the countertop color, it requires greater effort to removebr- Scratch resistance The glossy surface does show up micro-scratches The darker the surface, the more the scratches show up Not an obvious problem for day-to-day use, but might be an issue for picky customersbr- Aging Epoxy does yellow with age The thicker the application and the lighter the color, the more noticeable the yellowing Comment from : 1dash1 |
