Nice tips But me moving things by myself to save money would actually cause extreme stress for me So, I'll say only follow that advice if you know yourself very well And also only follow it if you're not disabled I can walk and stand just fine, but I had a chronic illness that makes it very difficult for me to stand or walk for long periods of time My walk can quickly turn into a limp after 30-minutes So, I'll take some of this advice, but not all of it

Great tips, I have a tip from when we moved into the house which was, pack clothes and toiletries in a suitcase so you can move the rest of the clothes into your new home

In the process of moving to a new apartment and I purged SO MUCH! I had multiple garbage bags FILLED with clothes and other things I didn’t need Also, use small boxes as much as you can You’ll thank yourself when it comes to the heavy stuff since it’s easier to lift You can buy boxes at Lowe’s, and the smalls (which are a good size!) are 98 a piece! They’re also easier to carry since they have handles If you have suitcases, backpacks, etc, use them to carry clothes, shoes or other items Save the larger boxes to keep your clothes and bedding in I keep all my clothes on the hanger and tie them up in a garbage bag so they don’t get dirty Not to mention transporting as much as you can yourself helps a lot, too

You can take a trip to any of your nearby stores and find out when they're truck day is So, when you start doing your packing U can do an easy way and get there easy boxes that is going to throw out for packing your household items

Places like uhaul have packing supplies, including giant bags for your mattress to go in Even king size!!! That way it wont get dirty on the truck

Wrong!! Pack luggage for immediate use items like toilet paper, toiletries, towel, bandaids ALSO, set up your bed with sheets IMMEDIATELY! You’ll be tired and exhausted before you know it A fresh shower and fresh sheets are essential

We are moving into a home with tile floors in 8 days! We are buying an all in one tile vacuum and cleaner to wash the tile and seal the grout so it's easier to keep clean in the future We will seal the grout before we bring a single thing into the house (I didn't word it as a tip, but I meant it as one Seal your grout before it gets dirty!) If at all possible, the best thing you can do while moving is to have your new house available a few weeks or months ahead of time so you're not fitting moving into a few days or a week We don't have to be out until March 13th, but we close on the new house on January 17th so we have plenty of time and as little stress as possible Thanks for the awesome video!!

I have what I call my "moving kit" in it I have light bulbs, a roll of toilet paper, one pan, a manual can opener, enough canned and packaged meals for three days (they keep!), one place setting (I have no family nearby) including a cup (cheaper than paper), a small bottle of dish soap, a camping set of salt and pepper, a small dish basin, a towel and washclothall in a wheeled container with a lid I also keep a gallon of water next to it, as part and parcel with my 72-hr emergency kit A gallon of water doesn't last long, but it helps until I can find a source It's saved me so much hassle a number of times, not only for moving, but for when I was traveling to see family, and especially when I was homeless long story LOL
