tOany people watching this video you can get 1080p but you need an av converter with a a switch on it so you can switch between 720p and 1080p

I've been having issues capturing PS3 with an Elgato HD and OBS, since I can't use HDMI I wonder if you can use composite as well as component with this method? I have an component to HDMI converter so I'll try it out when I get home

The original Elgato had a couple of adapters for the PS3, so you could use the component PS3 out with a decent HD resolution (720p to 1080p I believe) and would not need a HDMI splitter or an upscaler That way you can avoid the High Definition Copy Protection, as it's restricted to the HDMI outputs

I was thinking about buying the elgato before but I said to myself that's alot of money so I got the hd pvr and it's good on mac I use eyeTV and turned progressive scan on and the quality is amazing I think I'll get the elgato next

THANK YOU! I had no clue I had to go into the settings and opt for the component Didn’t even know it existed, this worked for me thankfully and now I can record PS3 gameplay 🤠👍

Nice workaround but the drop in quality is a big issue for me personally It also doesn't help that I can't find the cable needed to try this anyway lol, guess I'm gonna just have to buy a splitter

Luckily I'm the proud owner of 3 DECHA00A debug PS3s so I can simply turn off HDCP and run it directly through the Elgato There have been a few affordable ones of those on eBay recently so you should definitely keep an eye out if you can spare the money The best thing about them if that they're fully backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2 games from ball/b regions so I can finally catch up on some of those games that never made it to Europe I believe Reggie has one of those as wellbrFor anyone interested in a debug PS3; make sure it's a DECHA00A and not some other one that isn't backwards compatiblebrbrI do keep a HDMI splitter around though since I also have a regular PS3 SlimbrbrI'm currently playing a bunch on Switch like ARMS, Splatoon 2 and miscellaneous other games and some Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete on PS1 My N Sane Trilogy is in the mail and Crash 2 is my favorite so I'll also be saving that one for last :)
