Edit: Performance on Xbox One X in the High Frame-Rate Mode is quite variable and seems to degrade during an extended play session, so the High Frame-Rate Mode may run better or worse for you than shown herebrbrThe gameplay rendering resolutions are as follows: 3840x2160 on Xbox One X in the Native 4K Mode, 3840x2160 using what appears to be a form of Checkerboard Rendering in the Enriched Visuals Mode, and 1920x1080 for both the base Xbox One and the Xbox One X in the High Frame-Rate ModebrThe rendering resolutions for most main cutscenes are as follows: 2880x2160 on Xbox One X in the Native 4K Mode, 2880x2160 using what appears to be a form of Checkerboard Rendering in the Enriched Visuals Mode, 1920x1080 on Xbox One X in the High Frame-Rate Mode, and 1440x1080 on the base Xbox OnebrSome minor cutscenes that transition directly into gameplay render at the same resolution as gameplay on all consolesbrbrThe Enriched Visuals Mode features graphical improvements over the Native 4K Mode such as: a higher level of texture filtering, improved LODs, improved foliage shadows, increased ground detail, improved draw distance and a reduction in aliasing All Xbox One X versions feature improvements to texture quality over the base Xbox One The High Frame-Rate Mode on Xbox One X appears to be using a form of temporal anti-aliasing instead of the post-process anti-aliasing used on the base Xbox One and this results in noticeably reduced aliasing in some scenes

Boophpoi
Hey Nice video Is there any difference in terms of visuals between the Xbox One X Rise of the Tomb Raider demo footage and the final Xbox One X release? Example depth of field is in the final version or not? Because without it the game was much sharper

snight01
excellent analysis, cant wait for more, especially shadow but has alot of tearing and yes 4k is the most stable it seems

Lucky Number8
On my 1080ti 2GHz game run at 45-60fps maxed out at 4K, and xbox X looks very close to it in enriched mode, from my normal viewing distance I couldnt tell any difference, and in fact I even prefered to play xbox X version over PC thanks to HDR implementation BTW- there's also xbox 360 and considering how old x360 hardware is the end result looks still very good What's interesting xbox360 version is MUCH more responssive compared to xbox X version and it's strange because both run at 30fps (well X version has 60fps mode, but I'm talking about 30fps enriched and 4K native mode)

Hi! I play on an 10 year old plasma tv and sometimes i experience lag and frame drops, i play on xbox one X I dont know the ms of the Tv, my question is, is it the tv that makes the game lag or is it the xbox?

Javier
Thanks for the effort of making this videos!brI thought that the "high frame-rate mode" would do better, but knowing that the CPU is the weak part of Xbox and PlayStation consoles I understand it is hard to reach and maintain 60 fps, nevertheless I think is a nice try for Microsoft's console, I wouldn't have minded some adjustments in quality (shadows, textures, water, foliage, lightning, etc) in order to maintain those 60 fps the vast majority of time

CocoChris13
always on time with new games comparison lol!! omg!!

Doctor Claw
30 FPS is a plague that needs to fade away
Comment from : Doctor Claw

Humble Roberson
I have the game and it is amazing The enriched visuals is the best feature and should've been implemented in Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Comment from : Humble Roberson

gingataisen
I guess staring at Lara's derrière in Enriched Visuals Mode is the one for me, Native 4K Mode would be a distant second It makes sense; that's what the console was built for This X Enhanced patch was obviously built with scalability in mind, so that it can run flawlessly on the next gen Xbox No drops, no tearring, no anything
Comment from : gingataisen

MrMichaelXX
60fps>4K
Comment from : MrMichaelXX

Peoples Champion
This is why consoles have to target at least 1080p 60fps max PC settings next gen It is a very poor showing that consoles still can't hit 1080p 60fps high PC settings
Comment from : Peoples Champion

Ashtar Sheran
1080p,medium settings 40 fps lol

Native 4K mode is perfect

Console Gaming Vids
Native 4K mode is the only stable mode High framerate mode is way too variable so the stuttering destroys the experience Enriched drops a lot too Just looking at those frame time spikes you can see it's a mess, except on 4K Native Great analysis Thanks!

Rendes Zsolt
Bad optimisation
