Please be aware of covert Narcissisism, Gaslighting and Covertly Manipulative behaviourbrbrI would never tolerate overt abuse but I fell for the manupuljating behaviour of a covert narc I chose to ignore the red flags So long as I kept it together and managed to provide, things were ok, but when I needed support and needed him to step up he couldn't and wouldn'tbrbrI gave him every thing he needed to heal but he was incapable of doing this One of the main reasons was that he couldn't accept that he did anything wrong Everything was my fault or his disability, me having to make constant allowances for that and taking on more work My personal needs suffered as a resultbrbrIn the early days, while he was selfish in many ways, we still worked as a team I thought we were working towards a common goal but he lied to me from the start of the relationship He didn't love me, he loved the lifestyle he was getting As soon as he viewed himself as putting more in that he was getting out, particularly in financial terms, he was out As with many Narcs, they over estimate their contribution to everything The less he did the more I realised that I didnt need him The more he thought he had me trapped the more abusive he became, the more I realised that I didn't want to be with himbrbrMy life has been happier since he left, despite the stress of the mess I was left in and what I had to come yo terms with psychologically
