Hello, Mental Outlaw,as a Monero enthusiast, I recently discovered a new interesting project (apepepow) that seems to combine Monero's privacy features with community preferences for the Monero (XMR) meme hobby Designed by the developer community and created by Monero developers

You failed to mention that the Bitcoin algorithm is designed to make mining progressively more difficult over time which is why ASIC mining machines are obsolete by the time your mining machine is actually shipped to you Waiting lists for these things crammed full and it takes months to get one If you try to buy one secondhand people sell them for up to 10 times what they cost brand new Comment from : Brian B |
My problem with crypto is that its semi centralized Both bitcoin and monero have two pools control more than 50 of hashrate How is this truly decentralized? Comment from : Mitragynine The Speciosa |

Now that Monero has reached the final inflation rate (which means there won't be whales and money keepers like in bitcoin), using Monero is so easy that the only missing part is people actually receiving monerobrbrBtw, it's financially better to use Monero only, since there are no taxes on pure crypto in most countries (only on the benefits from buying/selling crypto) This means that if someone receives a wage in crypto, pays rent in crypto, and buy things in crypto, there is essentially no money to tax Comment from : just someone passing by |

I was hoping I could get some commentary on the size of the blockchain on Monero compared to Bitcoin I know the blockchain size of Monero is smaller than that of BTC, however, proportionally, it seems like the size of Monero will make it more difficult for independent users to run full nodes Comment from : Lucas Noritomi-Hartwig |

I do a fair amount of Monero mining on my 5900 in the winter when I need the extra heat Here are some observations:br*Overclocking is a waste of energy Profitability is marginal enough as it isbr*Huge pages is a MUST That alone roughly doubled my hash rate without effecting power consumptionbr*Running on Windows I had to manually disable automatic memory compression For some absurd reason Windows 10 really liked to randomly tank the hash rate by trying to do this For a while I thought my system was unstable, but nope Just Windows being windowsbr*I saw no meaningful gain from memory overclocking, but a very noticeable boost by tightening memory timings, and that included secondary and tertiary timingsbr*Last I checked, mining would have yielded roughly half a Monero per year of continuous mining There's really no money in it, but every miner not on a major pool makes the network a little more secure Comment from : fnorgen |
Dk but your arguments seem offbr1 asics are way more efficient (Power/Performance)br2 for cpu Mining mobo cpu ram are nessecary (most times mobos die)br3 people with more money can farm more monerobrbrIn conclusion monero is Not as centralised but inefficient and non asic systems produce way more waste when you look at the end resultbrbrI have only watchedtill 6min but this looks like an ad tbh Comment from : Vinzent B |

Do you play Rust? Comment from : Lussor |
No need to make disinformation campaigns to promote monero LMAObrBitcoin miners are not centralized at all, the point is not for it to "FEEL" decentralized to you, but that dishonest participants fall into unforgiving costs for trying to fuck up with the blockchain new entries or past entries And assics do that, not only the energy required to 51 is astronomical, the hardware requirements are also a barrierbrIf microsoft decided to 51 attack monero, they could Comment from : Bitcoin Chan OSRS |
