I feel like the bit about side-step logic seems a bit weird, as I think of side-stepping towards a move, as it's easier to push the move further to the side it's already going, rather than track in a direction that it's already gone past

0:05brThat could be why I'm struggling to side-step I've been working off of boxing logic a bit and trying to apply it's general rules to the game as a point of reference If someone swings a left hook at you, the rule is that you usually lean right to avoid it and vice versa Tekken kinda has it backwards in that respect if what Aris says is true in most cases

Actual logic would be to step to their left if they strike from their left lol Thats what actually works in the real world in proper head movement You want to leave their line of attack to create an opportunity to counter But nevertheless this is a good video for tekken

Even though I won't be a top tier player, I really like the mechanics behind this game There are so many options available to you, and as a beginner these basics are unfortunately not the first thing I cared about I wanted to do badass combos :PbrHey it's a long road ahead of me, but as of now, I'm willing to take it Shoutouts to Aris and No Pants for helping me get better :D

Funny, cuz in real life martial arts, dodging to the opposite side makes you vulnerable to the opponents left/right arm If the opponent hooks, you duck Not so logical video games

that shit u said about applying logic doesn't work cos there are many characters with df1 pokes which track left or right despite the character using their left armbrbrso the only way to find what direction to step a move is to actually test it atleast for other tekken games I don't know if this one is different
