I still don't understand why people keep comparing ram usage between Windows and LinuxbrbrMy old laptop has 10 GB of rambrbrI have used Windows and Linux on this same laptop to do the same things: browse the internet, building simple django apps, building simple react native appsbrbrI didn't notice any speed advantage of Linux over Windows despite the lower ram usage brbrLinkedIn still bogged down the processor and slowed down the Firefox browser in both OSbrbrI think ultimately it all comes down to the processorbrThe same processor means the same speed Comment from : Sid Jay |

In my opinion, Windows is so good at optimization, especially RAM Windows comes for you, you don't have to worry about RAM on Windows, just upgarde RAM more But in Linux, you have to control your Linux system yourself, so you may be worry about RAM, because if you are at risk in Linux, you are gonna fix it yourself Comment from : Văn Cường Nguyễn |

So your comparing a Linux distro that's designed to be as light weight as possible, sacrificing lots of features, with a desktop operating system that's designed to withstand lots of different applications, hardware and workloads?brbrAnd besides, Windows can automatically adjust how much RAM it uses, in accordance to the total RAM installed Comment from : RandomYT Videos Uploader ًⓥ |

I think most of the "used" memory under windows is mostly just "reserved" and not actually usedbrbrIf you eg If you were to upgrade from 4GB to 32GB, Windows would use up 8GB for desktop use alone, simply because there is so much left to reservebrUnfortunately, I'm not sure how Linux does this with the reservation and it could well be that Linux gives you much more precise information and does not reserve such an incredible amount of memory (unnecessarily) Comment from : LetMeDwight |
