While this may work with most dogs and most breeds, I’d like to see someone try this positive only stuff with a 130 male Rottie or a 150 pond Cane Corso Good Luck Comment from : Sin City Quinn |
I find this a very interesting approach and would like to try it I already do a similar approach when I want to calm her due to overexcitement However she hit puberty a while ago and starts to “talk back” even when I ask her for a simple down for example So far I’ve started to not give her treats when she talks back before going into a down and only reward when she does the command straight away without complaint, but since you don’t use any treats, what would you do to stop the annoying teenage talk back or if she refuses to do a step? Just ignore and ask for the next behaviour? Comment from : claiire |

Hi Saro, found your video because at the moment having an issue with my labrador puppy who often likes to dig holes in the garden, its become an every day issue now She chews wooden skirting boards and other things that she probably shouldnt Shes about to leave the teething stage She knows the common basics like sit and come but takes a while to follow those instructions Any advice or tips for this issue? Gonna be trying this method of yours out and see if it may help Comment from : meera |

Spare the rod spoil the child Humans and dogs are completely different Not to mention my dogs wont listen to you if your soft spoken They hear that and think playtime My jack russell will literally look at you sneeze and continue on doing whatever unless you slightly raise your voice like your scolding a child Comment from : WhiteMageDende |
I can’t help myself from getting so angry and frustrated the new dog is causing my old dog to act out like never before, barking at strangers while walking brAnd treat training is causing my old dog to gain weight, and I feel is the wrong way of rewarding negative behavior Comment from : Eric Bergeson |
Not good enough for keeping a Pack under control have to use the old voice for that ! Comment from : ChilledFloss |
I mean that would work if you don't have a brain dead dog Comment from : kyle jesso |

Most dogs i have had, dont need as much correction as my new dog brbrThe new dog cooperates only on its own termsbrbrI swear this new dog is going to cause me heart failure one day 😅 Comment from : Don Carlos |
That's interesting because I did that with my friends dog with out even knowing that I was training her When I stood up and put her leash on her, what ever she was doing stopped and she would sit and look at me When I sat down, of course she was back to doing what ever it was LOL Comment from : Roy Pettigrew |
I agree that hitting your dog or yelling at your dog is not the way to go by punishing them but I don't agree with playing with them every time they're bad because what that teaches them eventually is all they have to do is act up and you'll drop everything you're doing and spend time with them, dogs like to be commanded, so I don't agree with thisbrbrI have two dogs and the way I discipline them when they act up is I separate them and I chain them up separately on their leash in two separate rooms and I give them timeouts At first it was pointless but after a week or two weeks doing it they know by the tone of my voice that they're about to get put in time outbrNow this may not work for every dog but I feel like it's something to try😊 Comment from : Full of Mox¡e |
Hi there do I do same with a rottweiler 4 year old pup mate he's nippy time times when he's on one and don't listen only when he's on one but when he is settled and karm he will listen he can play up on lead to biting on lead but only at times blessings ⚡💥🔥💦💧💯💙🇬🇧👑 Comment from : D J Pythons |

Is it bad to have tons of toys containers all over the house I think I might have too many toys in house Comment from : christine hotmama |
Yeah this is never going to work with the kind of dog we have it’s terrible You can’t even be in the house without him being in a constant state of anxiety He attacks and jumps down the stairs constantly shitting and pissing on the floor If it was my dog and not my family’s I would have just gotten rid of him Comment from : Username unknown |
Incredibly helpful I was surprised by how well my dog understood and responded to this method Thank you! Comment from : massademic |

my yorkie just bit the shi* out of me because I accidentally kicked him instead of getting mad, I looked up "how to scold dog" on YouTube and found your video I'm glad I found it he doesn't know any tricks and he's not particularly motivated (he's a two pound terrorier) but yeah, glad i found you anyway Comment from : GUMNUT GAMING |
I will admit I use to pop my puppy it started only when he would bite my face I only did it a couple of times and he learned it was a no no but idk why I guess I assumed it worked good with that so I tried it with biting in general and it does not work if anything it causes them to do it more because they’re being rough and so are you but this actually works for him it’s cute him like sighing because he knows I’m punishing him with tricks Comment from : Ashton Elgin |
So you’re telling me if they poop in the house I gotta put them on a leash and walk them around Comment from : Krislynn Paisley |

What if the dog does not listen and will not do the lesson? They won't respond to treats or redirecting? Comment from : RockSolid1023 |

I used to be really calm and took the time to see things from my dog's perspective But lately, I'm so stressed and I got a new puppy last august He is sweet, crazy, and also has awful behavior He pulls trash out all the time As soon as the trashcan starts to fill up, he tips it over and pulls every single piece of trash out and strings it across the house, including his old poop (He also is just absolutely not picking up potty training, no matter how patient I am I've tried Kennel training, Treat training, potty pads, letting him out on a frequent schedule it just will not click for him) He also has successfully managed to remove the couch covers, pull out every one of the cushions and had the entire living room covered in cotton and foam Sometimes I just lose it and start screaming at him I feel so bad after I calm down and take a step back I just wish I could see things through his eyes And when I say he is sweet, he really is He loves giving kisses, playing, and will even fight to crawl under the blanket with you when you're going to bed My other dog is the complete opposite and I've never had to deal with this before My other dog is 3 yrs old, is so calm and angelic even He always lets me know when he needs to go potty, follows his commands, never tears anything up, waits for your permission to eat, etc I don't know what to do, I still love him at the end of the day, I just don't know how to get him to understand Comment from : Hill Homesteading |

I would say basically you're putting the dog on the leash and putting them to work doing basic commands and getting them to pay attention to you and respect you and respect your commands in a working format It's kind of like what trainers would do with their Arabian horses if they do it if they train the horses correctly They're very sensitive and intelligent so getting angry and hitting them is not the way to go about it So I think there is a similar parallel between the Arabian horse and the Beagle Comment from : Kim C |
That is probably applicable to the weakling dog But to high prey drive, almost want to eat you as a whole protection dog Punishment with a small physicality is a must Maybe I am not a trainer I applied a small amount of physicality with my jack russell His bad habit of jumping people and biting their clothes All gone Never saw her to that again Comment from : MukhangLaro Channel |
I need help! While on a walk with my dog, he suddenly grabbed at the leash he started tugging and growling and running in circles literally spinning me I couldn't let go of the leash because we were out and he would've ran away What do I do in a situation like this? He is a very strong beagle mix and I just rescued him He would've been euthanized the same day I got him for hyper behaviors Please respond! He pulls at the leash, had a bad habit of trying to tug, and he mouths alot Comment from : Jen Jen |
i agree with the dog becoming afraid from punishment, but is the dog really cognitively connecting the unwanted behavior to the mini-obediece-training?? 🤔 Comment from : mischkin |

My dog knows how to sit, ho i tell him to sit when he screams at people??? He won't listen at all when he misbehaves, and i'm really bad at punishments I feel so bad when i yell or when i'm strict so i really shouldn't have a dog Its a chihuahua tho so he needs his own chapter in the book of training dogs He's so little and nervous i feel like i'm traumatizing him by being strict, and i'm NEVER physical I'm supposed to hold him down to show dominance when he misbehaves, but again, i feel like i'm traumatizing him I feel like he's gonna get scared if i'm not sensitive or nurturing(as i always am when i'm with him) He doesn't respect me and i don't know how to fix that The only people he respects are people who doesn't show him love when he misbehaves because he's scared of something How can i do that, what do i do to calm him when he's scared but at the same time make him respect me?? Comment from : Miemora |
It doesn't work for punishing serious bad behaviour like chasing cats, dogs, biting etc Comment from : Alexandros Atalla |
May I ask I used to use this practice when my dog would start to whine outside (when she wants smth or is impatient over smth starts whining), and as a result it seems like I ended up the problem even worse brShe whines more thinking that if she does that we will work (high work drive dog) brbrWould like to hear your opinion on this brThank you Comment from : Shushan Margaryan |

I have 2 dogs they are not wild wild but they do jump on everyone and a few other they’re not even one year yet but they’re already pretty big, and they can never stay away from each other, if I pet one the other comes running and starts ruining everything lol but to get to the point idk what to do and when I put them on leaches they start jumping and going crazy pulling on it what do I do Comment from : Guapo323 |
I'm not sure if this would actually work for a puppy who pees in the house who already knows the schedule we go out to pee for My 4 month old puppy would get excited if i ask him to sit and stay because he thinks there's a treat coming And correct me if I'm wrong, I don't really want to give my dog the impression that he's about to get a treat after he just peed inside Comment from : XOBANO |
This is a really great explanation with no fluff and opened my eyes as a dog owner Question for you, what to do if during the punishment/mandatory training session, dog doesn’t feel like listening after a few commands? Thanks again for posting this Comment from : Albo Ris |
