As a doctor, I approve of this ideology Being a doctor is almost equivalent to a high ticket closer Depending on subspecialty, we sell high ticket treatments all the time brMore often than not, we know that our latest treatments (medication or surgery), albeit expensive, would benefit the patients Therefore, we have the ethical obligation to lay out all options and tell them why this certain treatment is the best for them Of course, some of them would not be convinced and go for second opinion or alternative medicine But, good doctors are in fact great salesmen They would be able to sell that piece of medical advice or treatment so that patients can make the right decision and live longer, healthier lives brIt does no good for the society if a doctor has excellent medical knowledge and the latest drugs in the arsenal but unable to sell them brDoctors sell hopes in a hopeless world Selling is nothing but the art of persuasion The one who masters it, is able to influence the world Comment from : Zhao Ming |
