Man, I love SE and have over 900 hrs Still can't build a good looking ship to save my life lol For some reason using workshop feels like cheating but I get frustrated trying to build ships of my own 😂

I always start with the main feature of the ship in mind, for example if a ship has to be agile, I start with the thruster system and conveyors and build the rest around it

I've created a gravity generator segment that can have a small grid ship built around it, that will be next to the back thrusters, i want a silver interior with a cozy white interior in the heart of the ship hidden away its gonna be put on the xbox workshop soon along with my updated slave 1 ship i created

Why no mirroring? First thing I do is plop down a block and put a mirror plane on it to save time I only turn it off when I'm making specific parts asymmetrical

I haven't finished this, but the issue i'm seeing is that it looks like your minecraft building This is space engineers, and you gotta consider how your gonna get your cryo chambers piped if the wall between it and the mess bay is one thick The same issue persists on the other side as well I'm assuming he ends up putting the cryo chamber on the far back wall Edit: the problem with that is it means the pipes will be on the outside of the ship, poorly defended We'll see how this goes tho Final edit: i take back my comment I was thinking in a 2d space

Really looking fwd to seeing how this turns out, already has a "Firefly" feel to it :) You can use a stairwell/ladder in the corridor behind the bridge (and fwd of engineering too) as access to cargo/vehicle bay below A single conveyor line running whole length below main corridor would allow easy access/storage/usage across all ship Not even gonna state the obvious beacon, antenna, gyros etc Looking Good but so need Program Blocks to be Codeable on Consoles :/

Instead of a dedicated battery “room”, you could tuck batteries into the design as the block below walls connecting the floors to hallways for example That will sandwich them between more armor, without taking up additional space You can get a surprising amount of them before you even notice If you use the new neon sci-fi armor skin, the 2 dot side glows I like the look of them in hallways as path lighting Can’t wait for the next episode

When you start a ship in space, you start placing any terminal so you can turn it into Station to prevent it from flying away :P
