I began saving water from steaming/simmering spring vegetables like spinach or asparagus, letting the water cool, and watering my sad ferns with it They were sulking due to poor care previous to coming to me, and have responded with massive growth Thank you for this tip which you shared either here or in another of your many videos! Bought those bottom watering planters and the bottom is attached to the pot The water in the bottom has no access to the roots, it is like a plate attached in the bottom Eventually water drains and becomes rotten I don’t know if bottom watering works Comment from : Milen |

Ridiculous about leaving dead leaves on top of soil What do you think soil is? It's rotting natural matter breaking down to elements that the plants absorb Also, that ridiculous layer of rocks you use does nothing but compress the soil, which isn't good at all You note how plants like to trail along a forest floor I know for sure their is plenty of decaying leaves there To avoid fungus gnats, just don't over water and make sure your plants are well drained Comment from : Martha Newsome |
