Obviously PTGI is superior but it's pretty amazing how well Renewed holds up against ray tracing If my computer wasn't able to run PTGI, I wouldn't be upset being stuck with the alternative Ether makes the best shaders, hands down

I know Renewed is supposed to be the less-hardware intensive "cheap" version, but I honestly think it looks better than PTGI PTGI looks really flat IMO

if you want sharp, pronounced shadows and shapes with good contrast, go with PTGI E12 If you want the bloom and ambient lighting effects, go with renewed

All I know about this video is that I get more fps in Doom 2016 (max settings) than both these shaders which proves minecraft with optifine isn't optimized enough

The difference is that Renewed uses conventional graphics techniques like SSAO and Minecraft's lightmap, while PTGI uses realtime path tracing, a form of ray tracing Obviously this means that PTGI will have greater graphical fidelity especially in indoor scenes, as well as coloured lighting support (only one light colour in Renewed) However this also makes it much harder to run, a RTX 2070 is recommended to run PTGI while Renewed can run at decent settings on most mid-range PC's today, although PTGI doesn't require an RTX GPU since it uses voxel ray marching (no hardware acceleration required) If you can afford PTGI, use that It's no question

I think there both good in there own ways "PTGI 12" is better in realistic illumination and path tracing But the "Sues Renewed" has the POM (3D textures) and better performance/optimization and both have great reflections on blocks and water

bSeus PTGI E12/b has better contrasts and bigger chromatic variety The reflections are also more pronounced, it's way more realistic and less blurred - it's to me the best one^^
