I was going to do this but honestly, I'm getting these same results just using Gelid Extreme thermal pads I went from a Memory Junction temp of 110C down to 70C My gpu is an ASUS TUF Gaming OC RTX 3080 The only reason i didn't want to risk this is the fact that the copper is conductive and with my luck one would slide off a VRAM chip and fry my card Comment from : NonLegit Nation 2 |

In principles of heat transfer, the flow of heat goes from one layer to another so the average conductivity equation does not work The effective heat conductance would just be the lowest conductivity layer I am surprised that you did not shield with kapton tapes the immediate area of the vram that is full of transistors as this may short circuit the card Good illustration but just to be careful on any short circuits - either I plan to use kapton tapes or just over extend the area of the thermal pad layer maybe wider by 1 to 2 mm on all sides to avoid accidental contacts of the shims with the surrounding transistors Comment from : MSJI 1722 |

I'm just about to replace the paste and thermopads in the RTX3060TI from ASUS Termopad from Gelid 15W / mK and the paste was to be Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut (125 W / mK) or Extreme (142 W / mK) What do you think about them? Only I saw below that the TG dries up quite quickly compared to the GD900, which is probably 4W / mK How long does it take 6 months / 1 year / 2 years to dry? (we say in the aspect that the GPU works 24/7 in the excavator)
