I used to read so many books growing up but now I don't because all these smart phones and computers are distracting and can't focus on reading for an hour I am 29, I did not have smart phones until my freshman year I guess Elon was lucky he didn't have technology even in his late 20s

Elon being mad that he wanted a car to go from LA to NY, the engineers thinking they might get to Vegas, and getting twice as far reminds me of a bit of internet history When the internet was being conceived it was dreamed up as an intergalactic network What we got was a planetary network that has never gone down (in its entirety) since it was "switched on" and has been working for like 50 yrs We take for granted what a monumental achievement that was The big idea was : give engineers goals beyond what they believe is possible and they will build something less than what you dreamed but still far greater than what they would have built with a lesser vision
