In all honesty brSadness should be the first emotion, coz a baby is born crying (ofcourse they are not crying out of sadness, but as they take their first breaths) but in a way, crying is mostly linked with sadness, as babies are definitely not crying with joy

If you think about it, Sadness's true purpose was revealed in this very first scene:brBabies cry when they have to communicate a need, like being fed or changed This is their way of telling the outside world of a problem they are having If Riley was happy all the time as a baby, her parents wouldn't know when they would need to attend to her needs The problem of Joy butting into Sadness's duty while Riley needs that feeling was apparent from the start

Everyone says “oh Riley is adopted how can she have blue eyes and blonde hair with her parents?” Well it’s very plausible through recessive genes and was probably a plot device to make Riley stand out from her family plus the way Riley’s mom was holding her suggested that she was in a hospital bed sitting down also she had her glasses off and this movie was supposed to make child birth look beautiful in the opening scene not as exhausting as it actually is I mean this is a kids film so that makes up for the lack of her looking like she just had a baby so yeah she’s not adopted not that that would be bad I’m simply pointing it out
