Excess grease is forced out in the designs I have worked with There is usually excess bore length for the pins so grease on the tip unless it is really thick and not forced out when installing shouldn't be an issue Comment from : Sloinker |

It is a good tip, as I found out recently I put too much grease on at the end and it forced that rubber antivibration grommet slightly up the slider pin when screwed in, this in turn caused the brakes to stay on and get very hot and smoke, such a simple tip but well worth adhering to Comment from : Steven Chorley |
