I was kinda hyped for the game (although female lead with ninja french maid outfit is almost laughably dumb enough to not make me even consider it ) but my hype died off somewhat after watching Zero Punctuation's review Now that you've basically brought up about the same negative aspects about story, difficulty and the repetitive gameplay with minor differences, I think I'll just wait for a big sale or somethingbrbrThe more I learn about the game, the less I think of it basically, which is rarely good

Oh well, sorry you didn't like it Adam Personally I got hooked from the beginning because, like you, I appreciate weird games and games trying to do something different I missed out on the first Nier so I thought this was a good chance to hop on the crazy train Like you, I was a little disappointed that Playthrough B is so similar to A, but I did enjoy the, let's say, "new gameplay mechanic" they introduce, finding it to be a very powerful addition to the regular combat In the end, though, I'm glad I took the plunge brbrAnd afterwards, I went and watched a cutscene playthrough of the first Nier and just found itokay, I guess? It has a similar issue of you playing through the exact same scenarios again, only with different perspective And it just seemed like it was beating you over the head repeatedly with "wow, you're a terrible person! aren't you sad? look at these terrible things you're doing!" I dunno What did you think of the first Nier?

Glad to see a bit of objective reviewing here However I feel like you didn't really delve into the deeper aspects of the combat with the chips and weapon sets, and wrote it off because you can button mash through the easier difficulties Or the fact that the second playthrough of the game adds more to it than simple dialogue changes Or the sense of humour the game has, or the dark themes it doesn't shy away from that begs questions that might make players think and self reflect And writing off the characters, their interactions, and development as "predictable" And skimming over the extremely tight controls and hype platinum combat because of the lock on, which I personally had little issue with brbrOther than that, pretty solid I can respect that opinion if the negatives are really important to your enjoyment of it I don't think a story's direction has to be totally unpredictable to be good myself, but that at least is just a matter of personal preference And I can appreciate that you acknowledge the fact that the game would still be enjoyable to a lot of people despite your own opinions of it, good on you Keep up the good work
