This video was very helpful, but for an unusual reason I have a prebuilt Alienware with an external 330 watt power supply, and they don't make external psu's any bigger than that So I wanted to connect a new PSU, but the inside isn't like any other PC because is all runs to an external, so I just ran my psu to the gpu as you showed, and I stopped black screening when gaming, thank you very much :) Comment from : James |
So basically your saying spend more money on a power supply tester rather than the cheaper duel PSU cable which does exactly the same thing This is a stupid video and is a very unsafe way of using 2 power supplies Comment from : David Billington |
Just ordered small mobo for 2 PSUs - googl/3kQqU8 ( Add2psu ) , or you can order "24 pin male to 2 - 24pin female cable " for the same job I think with the small mobo will be better, haven't tried it yet, but still it should be much better than having to power or shut down the PSUs together manually Also from Aliexpress or IDK if you like more Ebay (the same sellers are there), I sow that there is a cable that is CPU 8 pin to 2 x PCI - e , I don't have that much experience with PCs, but still think that on the CPU cable (I think that even small wattage PSU can hold atleast 200w peak CPU power), there should be more power than on the cables for HDD or DVD, so I ordered some of these cables Good luck and long lasting hardware! Comment from : Илиян Белев |

if your computer needs 2 6pins can u connect one by other psu and secont by other one? Comment from : joyola |

Interesting, maybe I can twin a couple of my old 250W PSs OTOH your PC now looks a mess; the second PS wants to go into the case permanently That's possible if you have a big case and maybe not using many expansion slots Needs a bit of metalwork which I realise is beyond many people I would also hard wire the mains supplies together to avoid the synchronised switch-on issue In one of my PCs I do have a second power supply (home-made) for a Raspberry Pi, the latter sitting in a 525" drive bay and connected to the network via an ethernet cable out the back Comment from : Duke Nukem |
Didn't even know this was possible Comment from : kent0149 |
