honestly linux is much better, it controls the cpu and gpu of a computer better, it will use more resources but it does not suffer as much overheating as windows and the performance is MUCH better

Well I wouldn't really call this a fair comparison, if people would actually pay attention to something more than the fps You'd see that the GPU usage is much higher on the Linux system or it might even just be a VM But I do not know if it is really a bad thing since if you're just playing and not running anything important in the background But at some points the GPU was at 99-100 usage which is not great for minecraft
