There's another big reason why NFTs don't quite work: Real property, like land, are finite Property is expensive because the Earth isn't infinite Even physical items like phones for example, have to cost money, since the raw minerals used to make them are not unlimited Why doesn't something like digital land work? Put simply, you can just make more You can't make more physical land Once the Earth is all claimed up, that's it; and it just becomes a bidding war for transferring existing ownership Why do most people feel Lazy Lions and Bored Apes are stupid? Because you can just create more and more "unique" variants, to the point it doesn't feel like there's a reason to own it in the first place Unlike physical items tied to physical constraints, there is essentially no limitation to how many digital items you can create Physical items have actual, legitimate value, because they are not infinite Digital items mainly just have perceived value
