Pch failure in laptop boards is no joke, a pch heatsink is important for longevity, especially if you have an expensive machinebrbrAnother plus side of this mod is quieter fans:brMany laptops for some reason have the embedded controller for fans tuned to also activate based on pch die temp, even though the air flow has more or less no effect on the pch temp (there's not really any temp difference on the pch whether the fans are running or not)brbrReducing pch temps means your fans are silent more often because they're relying on cpu and gpu temps and not staying on in a futile attempt to cool the pch which has no heat pipe Comment from : arbitrarygrill
