LOL I got the same fake ones as well if you look at the coin, a ton of detail is missing on the liberty's clothes plus the missing reed is in the wrong location, should be under the sun for 2022 learning experience I guess, I can tell the fake ones a lot easier ohh the fakes were from China

Not only fake, but COUNTERFEIT! This is a federal offence punishable by a term in federal prison I wonder if the seller is in the US, or in, for example, China Don't just show the seller ID, turn it over to the US secret service for investigation The real silver eagles may be 999 bullion, but they are real US MONEY I do NOT by gold or silver coins, bullion or old paper money on ebay

Just bought some of these:brSeller located in LA, supposedly coins were in the US but the coins didn't not ship until a week after the shipping label was printed I believe they were waiting for the coins to arrive from China The fakes I received are pretty good, but they fail the ping test and are a little heavy

Unfortunately I’m watching this video because I too have a fake 2022 eagle from eBay Anti counterfeiting mark is in the correct spot for the year(around 7 o’clock) and won’t stick to a magnet but I knew it was fake and thanks to your video I found out about this handy app Now I just have to wait on eBay to make it right because the seller isn’t responding Stole my money and stole my dads money with the same damn coin from the same seller 🤬 Thanks for the informative video!

I just bought one of these a few days ago as soon as it was in hand I could tell something was off The coin is dull no shine to it and like you said the detail on the feathers or lack there of was a dead give away Also I noticed the missing reed was larger than real eagles

So much for that missing ridge anti-counterfeit measure When that was introduced I laughed my ass off The Britannia has way more sophisticated anti-counterfeit measures And the government spent how many millions of dollar to think of that missing ridge idea Did that expense include the all you can eat nacho bar and in office soda fountain🤣

When I found out about the missing reed on type 2 silver dollars I became aware of fake silver for the first time Unfortunately too late to recover money for purchases beyond 90 days but now will only buy from my local coin shop He has a whole zip lock bag full of fake silver eagles It is a shame unsuspecting buyers may not know they bought fakes for many years I can buy eagles from my coin shop at a price equal to eBay prices and they are all verified on a metallics machine for peace of mind BEWARE

Hi Jeff, Like my 5 fakes, the first thing I noticed on your coins that you showed the "obverse" (heads) the "suns ray at the 9 o'clock position is missing" There should be 13 rays, your fakes, like mine, only show 12 rays Your missing "reed' on the reeded edge is in the wrong place too, it was below the date on the 2021's The mint moved the missing reed to the sun or about 7:30 on the 2022's The fake 2022's I have do have the missing reed at 7:30 The weight was spot on too They are really good fakes The way I knew mine were fake was the "missing ray around the sun" and I measured the diameter, the real A E's are 406 MM and 298 MM thick The fakes are 400 MM and are 30 thick I paid $3180 each I notified the seller and EBAY right away I got the refund of $15900 dollars within 12 hours or so and Yes, I did not have to return the fakes either Take a look at the "obverse" (heads) of your real AE, and the fake, you will see the missing Sun's ray at 9 o'clock right away now that you know to look Good video, so happy you let others know but I wish you would have pointed out the missing "RAY" I would think the USPS would get after these fraudsters PS, I use a fishing powerful magnet to test the AE's with, the fakes, like yours, are not attracted to it I may cut one in half to see what's inside, probably brass or copper

I had a very similar experience The weight was slightly off (heavier) and the thickness was greater The stars details above LL’s arm are different as well One obvious difference that I discovered later was that the tiny stub of sun ray at the bottom left (9:00) is missing

Im not sure if you caught the missing reed was in the wrong spot On 2022 eagles the reed should be at the 7 o clock position The 2021 is in the 6 o’clock position

I remember when I first started stacking and collecting I was looking for war nickels for album Anyway sends me 1965 and newer with a hand punch fake mint mark about the Monticello I was probably the worst attempt at a fake I've ever seen when I sent the seller a mss and reply I must have done that Lol I did get a refund and I believe his account got shut down but I'm sure he opened a new one up
