I cleaned my analog stick with rubbing alcohol & it worked Also pressing down & rotating the sticks after cleaning

I’ve had the same PS4 controller for 8 years with no issues while my ps5 controller has issues in the first 2 months I can barely play Black Ops Cold War without my character jittering on its own

Both of my PlayStation 5 controllers have stick drift now not even 6 months of use …aha that’s kind of a slap in the face , what’s more of a slap in the face is the fact that everyday when I try to call Sony’s customer service line that automated robot tells me there is no one available for me to talk to so I can send my controllers back … I hate it here sometimes

Sony needs to get their #$^ together, I waited 7 months to finally get a black PS5 controller, I attempt to play Dark Souls 2 and 3 and there's massive input delay, I get that fixed and now the left analog stick is drifting If it wasn't for the fact that I need to buy batteries for the XBOX controller I would have switched a long time ago This is unacceptable

Doesn't work if the carbon tracks on the potentiometer is worn out (Outer deadzone drift) or the springs that recenter the stick is faulty or weak (central deadzone drift) Only fix is to replace the potentiometer (1st case) or replace the spring/stem/the whole analog stick (2nd case) brbrIf you are on PC, use DS4Windows to increase the inner deadzone if you are having movement without touching the stick, until it goes away If the outer deadzone is iffy, increase it and add some anti deadzone so that the stick doesn't move too slowly brbrUnfortunately none of these can be done if you are on console If the game gives you the option (like fortnite), you can increase the deadzone from within the game until there is no drift remaining Unfortunately, increasing the deadzone makes the sticks less responsive and accurate Nothing to be done about it
