Me being an idiot with sunlight: I had parts in the printer which I needed to clean off, my garage door was open, so I thought: it's a nice day out, I'll just take the print bed outside to remove and clean the parts Of course all the excess resin instantly hardened as soon as the sunlight hit it My part was ruined and I had a huge hassle trying to scrape all the hardened resin off my print bed Whoops Comment from : Josh Carter |

Switching colors, you need to clean the vat Comment from : Darkburrow |
Another method I found works it's a modified Uncle Jesse quick clean I empty the vat only leaving about 1/2 mm or less, just enough to cover the FEP film Put a small waste part like a support in the corner for a handle Fire up the screen clean feature if your printer has it, wait the 20 or so seconds, pull up lightly on the waste support and everything comes right out No rubbing any FEP film been doing this for a few weeks and I have had no issues with left over resin at all Comment from : EvilMP5 |

I lost a printer screen because I newbishly followed this video's advice about not cleaning my vat, until my FEP tore Being able to see your FEP makes it a lot easier to verify whether your last print may have stressed it to the point of risking a tear on the next print And a FEP full of resin is a FEP that is hard to inspect Don't let a FEP problem turn into a $200 screen problem Clean your vat bucko Comment from : Owen Sheppard |
I also noticed you put the resin back in bottle without straining it! Doesn't matter if nothing in it strain it you'll be surprised what gets caught! I got a metal mest bosh for straining instead of filters but it's catching loads of like grit from new resin and strands of stuff! Comment from : Dougie |

Thanks for the video! ALL of my solid prints get stuck to the FEP, ripping off at the claws of the supports The plate base layers are solid and everything prints great until the layer I am printing becomes fairly large and it suction onto the fep, ripping off from the support talons and failing the print i tried using lube onto the fep, i tried angling the model but nope Anycubic mono 6k and Anycubic plant base resin FYI Need help asap! -_- Comment from : Stevino Selecta |
Telling folks not to clean the FEP with IPA is ridiculous It's chemical proof which is why it's used It's paper towels and rags that mark FEP - not IPA Comment from : AJC |
I'm a total noob when it comes to this process of 3d printing at 0:37 time stamp you've said something bad about IPA and you just blew my mind brWhat's wrong with IPA? I'm going to open a fresh & cold can of IPA and sip it as I continue trough your video There you have it :D Comment from : Burning Diesel Production |

Good advice, and never mix water soluble resin with Resin that requires Alcohol to clean it youtube/odCnG7_YvJQ Comment from : STL Trek Models |
I use E85 now for cleaning as it is about 3 dollars a gallon instead of 21 to 50 ish like Denatured and IPA I have it in a well ventilated setting and I use a filter respirator mask alsobrIt does have odor but it is not as strong as Denatured Alcohol is, and as long as you are not huffing it, it is just as safe Comment from : STL Trek Models |
I just bought my first resin printer and watching this video really helped me on things to and not to do Question In my house I have a window in every room would putting a towel over the printer work or would it affect ventilation or ruin the resin/prints? Comment from : Charis Tucker |
Leveling - in addition to what you said, you will for sure need to relevel if you swap out the resin tank (appreciate maybe your model doesn't have this, but it's an extra on some models and you can buy a spare ) :) Comment from : Jericho |

BRAVO about placing everything in the window to cure before you throw it away!!!!brI just watched another video of some guy that didn't have a 405nm curing LED or setting his "trash" in the sun, he appeared to just throw this used paper towels, gloves and screens in the trash GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! This crap is HIGHLY dangerous for landfills and the ocean and incinerators I'm not a tree-hugger, but I dont want poisonous veggies on my plate or in my fish : Comment from : Graynoble |
You fail in point 1 - no point for me to watch further - leaving the resin in the tank first smells, second it evaporates and hardens, building a film on top and it is losing its properties Comment from : Lachezar Krastev |
I've literally had my resin left in the tank for up to 6 months before 😂 come back swirl it around and she's good as new Comment from : Connor Dwyer-Power |

I usually try to make sure there are good preparations before printing In the past I often made the mistake of not shaking the resin well before putting it in the tray and had the problem that it would lose size due to the amount of resin being deposited and liquid on the top So in my opinion, shaking well for about 5 minutes before use will give a better than expected result I live in Vietnam, so the weather is also quite warm, I wonder how affected people in cold countries will be? Comment from : SALIMA JEWELRY |
Do you leave the fermentation belt on during printing ? Comment from : Martin WF |

If I level my printer so tight that I can't move it, I got issues I lift the plate, so the paper just bearly can move I do the same with my cnc mill It's not much (maybe it doesn't really make a difference) but for me it's better this way Comment from : Kini |

Question: what is the most proper way to remove prints from the tray? I've been using a metal cooking scraper since I got my printer about a year ago The tray screen is scratched on the surface from it, but prints still seem to stick to it just fine Is there a better way, and have I ruined my tray? Comment from : wyvern876 |
Background music too loud to clearly hear what you are saying Comment from : Main Stay |
i find the resen color splits out so i put it back in bottle to shake it Comment from : mariopic |
You should always leave your printing plate inside your printer enclosure, once the print is finished, remove it from the plate in one shot with a scraper, wipe the plate clean to be sure no plastic is left on it and put it back in the enclosure Comment from : Maude Potvin |
not keeping track of count isn't dyslexia, it's dyscalculia Comment from : Niko L |
