No one in my family has long hair Like, absolutely no one! So I’m not really surprised that the amount of hair that I have after a year and a half, only took 9 months on others It’s still not stopping me from at least trying to see how long I can grow my hair It’s very frustrating, but I’m willing to stick it out and be patient Even though long hair isn’t in my genetics, I pray and ask God for flourishing long thick healthy hair I do need to eat cleaner, and apply these great tips that you have mentioned as well those mentioned in the comments I also need to work on coming off of blood pressure medication I believe it has contributed to hair loss, not to mention extreme dryness Comment from : @alysiaaro4926 |

I've discovered an affordable hair care routine that's truly working wonders for me! 💁♀️ For under 10 British pounds, I use Head & Shoulders on the roots, TRESemmé shampoo on the ends, and finish with Blue Magic I apply Blue Magic, twist my hair, and voilà – my hair is not only thriving but growing beautifully Give it a try and thank me later! 🌟 Comment from : @Fayvourx |

My major setback has to do with iron and copper deficiency Comment from : @valeriebelinga6558 |
In nige… 😅 Comment from : @ochadeudome1563 |
My hair is super short how do I grow it? Comment from : @niqui415 |
Growing up I learned that our black hair doesn’t grow at the same rate as another’s… I learned wrong lolbrbrMy issue is the retaining of the length, ie ends… which I am now improving on; by keeping the ends moist, trimmed etc I don’t add leave in conditioners, don’t oil my scalp, my scalp has nothing on it except SEBUM My hair is stretched, clean and has nothing in it but oilbrbrI looveee your hair and the video 🤎🤎🤎 Comment from : @swaynieholder2362 |
I haven’t solved my issues, but I have serious breakage and split ends- along the parts of my SECTIONS, the more sections I have, the more breakage right to the roots, leaving me with 1 inch length hair along the borders- the rest of my hair is below shoulder length because I keep trying to trim split ends… whew, that was a lot of words Comment from : @am8838 |

I have grown my hair a little past the middle of my back and I started getting relaxers on the regular my hair started to thin out pretty bad I still have length but the breakage is mainly in the back my hair still seems pretty healthy since I have stopped the relaxers for good I have been wearing Platz for less manipulation about to start aloe vera treatments and rice water rinses again and leaving my hair and braids until my thickness comes back wish me luck thank you so much for the video Comment from : @DingDong44458 |

I love your opening 🎉🎉🎉 Comment from : @bongsmthethwa8356 |
I was t doing trims or protein treatments I thought oils alone will grow my hair Honestly I couldn’t do the natural hair myself I had to go to a hairdresser find a natural hair stylist who knows hair because I would’ve been frustrated and I probably would’ve chopped all my hair off again When I don’t go to the salon I deep condition every week and I use heat big game changer I also use a detangler so I can keep my retention I love my heist stylist she massages my head all time At home I’m a little aggressive with the combing I have to lay off Comment from : @malikak |
Just such a beautiful young lady! Thank you for the secrets! Comment from : @MoonLightOnWater1 |

Comment from : @vanessajustine4844 |
My setbacks have definitely been split ends No matter WHAT I’ve done over the past seven years I have not been able to get past 15 inches of healthy growth because of the constant split ends My goal is 20-24 inches of healthy hair ❤ Comment from : @tanieshablessed424 |
I keep cutting my relaxers out The last one burn my scalp so I shave completely bald to heal my skin and avoid infection or anything I use olive oil to keep my scalp moisturize That was six months ago My hair is about three inches and dry I want to do my own protection styles I want to go old school with blue magic and Vaseline conditioning oil like olive and coconut Comment from : @mikaylahgibbs-simpson1186 |
is it good to straighten my hair all the time? Comment from : @princessetafempa2384 |
Definitely not true about stretching your hair! You can grow it just as well natural And some people have different hair abilities! And what you like to see your hair as, some of us like to wear our hair in our actual curl hair style! Which is more than possible So that's not the best for natural hair It's just your preference Comment from : @BronzeSkin |

My edges 😫 Comment from : @Spring_of_Smiles |

My hair is bra strap length now and I did the big chop(ear length) 1-2years ago I have had set backs and I’m not the best when it comes to caring for my hair Comment from : @yeetqueen8729 |
i had long pretty black hair when i was small and i decided to use blow dryer and flat iron at once and it damaged my hairbrAnd now im using aloe vera treatment and rice water treatment for my hair and it worked im trying to pass my shoulder but its just not growing anymore im trying to be patient with it though Comment from : @saniquesmith1660 |
I didn't necessarily have a "setback" I had a full undercut for 5 years and wanted to grow it out meaning, I was going to shave my head So I was like "If I'm gonna shave it anyway, might as well have fun coloring it for now" Which I did but there was one color that had me in a chokehold I loved having a black to blue ombre but uh, the upkeep with all the bleaching damaged the hell outta my hair I wanted to keep it so bad regardless of knowing there was no coming back😭 I did eventually shave it all off but I was definitely stalling for a long time lol Comment from : @angelgarciaaa |
My setback is not moisturizing my hair and stretching it enough Have you had bald patches? If so, how did you handle it? How often did you wash your hair? Is/was your hair thin and dry like mine? what's the best regime? Comment from : @donnaraquel |
Did you always have hair passed your shoulders? It's alot of genetics I don't all hair grows the same speed Comment from : @ggreen3233 |
Our hair is dry because it’s high porosity and porous, moisture retention is key! Comment from : @flaviaakello |
My set back was bleached blonde and constantly blow drying 😮 hair salon she was great my hair just doesn’t like it never again 💜🙏 Comment from : @Shallewa |

It may take five years if you have no hair, but if you already have, 8, 10, 14 inches of hair on your head, it may take half that time or so, right? Comment from : @xavierrestrelm9349 |
My setback was when I decided to make it easier to detangle my hair on wash day by texturizing my hair 🫠 my hair has finally recovered to shoulder length and I just cut the last of that mess off 😭😭 a mistake I made 2 years ago that I very much regret because my hair was so full and almost bra strap length! Comment from : @shaiyonce3343 |
Thank you for this video I haven’t had a relaxer in a year Comment from : @chelleholmes1012 |
My set backs were 5 surgeries in 2 years and stress Comment from : @brandinorman2486 |
I also kinda agree with cutting your hair because your split ends will make your hair grow a little faster so great job with that idea❤️ You look like a beauty queen I love your hair 🌸✨ Comment from : @Heapypeachy_ |
Literally just consistency, understanding your porosity and styling/using products accordingly, and staying ahead of hair dryness will grow your hair This video is so helpful I was always natural, only straightened or permed my hair like 3 times in my whole life But I started doing my own natural in 2016 and didnt know wtf I was doing lmaoI started with shoulder length hair but by 2019 I had lost like 2 inches My biggest setback was absolutely washing only every 2-4 weeks as well as not know how to detangle my hair and leaving my roots tangled leading to MASSIVE breakage So now I definitely don't mind if it takes me close to an hour to detangle cuz I end up with bno/b breakage I big chopped for a second time in sept 2020 (to pretty much bald) As of july 2022 my hair is about 9-11 inches But always, health over length Comment from : @JanieBee |
My biggest setback is my lack of patience to strangle my hair on wash day I just get so pissed and start ripping the hair and if I’m mad mad… I bsnip/b and call it a day Comment from : @IAMCHIDERA |
so I'm 16 turning 17 I'm from the Caribbean I'm from African and Portuguese decent and my hair is course, I had healthy hair since I was a kid but as soon as I was in grade 8 and some started plaiting my hair it fell out and it hurt cause my hair was my pride and I would get bullied a lot, never the less learnt to braid my hair myself and it retained some length, I relaxed it and when it grew out I chopped off the straight ends and now I mostly keep my hair in mini twist my hair is at my eyebrow in length and I'm working hard to make it grow back how it was, thick and healthy Comment from : @angeldaly8181 |
How often do you deep condition your hair? Comment from : @ariesseira7111 |
Struggling with breakage and length retention I have a perfect protective styling routine and take out my protective styles gently but my length isn't being retained as much as it used to Comment from : @darlenembandenakoma7946 |
What does you mean by protective styles and what are you protecting them from, exactly? I'm new with dealing with natural hair🤭 Comment from : @mitsuomits9077 |
I love your personality 🤗😍 Comment from : @carolinemukonho9892 |
Setbacks: over manipulation( can't leave my hands out of my ding dang hair)😂 I've gotten better at leaving it alone when i have to Comment from : @nachilanganalungwe6730 |
People don’t understand that thickness doesn’t equal health My hair literally was so thick when I was straightening it every WEEK and having it grow out but it literally was so damaged and unhealthy that I couldn’t wear it curly ever cause of the bone straight endsbrbrbrBy people I mean me lol that was my set back Comment from : @izzydandrea7548 |
Great Job Doll! Comment from : @msfortune2957 |

Hope this message finds you well Would you be able to describe or show pics of what your breakage looks like I have too many in my opinion longer and shorter pieces My hair isn't growing as fast as it used to I'm moisturizing once a week, FD and trying to be very careful I also wear my hair in twists most of the time Protein treatments aren't doing anything I've been using a sulfate shampoo on my scalp only and a conditioner to wash Or just doing an acv rinse I've been using a homemade leAve in or just using water and a Shea butter mix I've been praying about it and doing everything right I'm seeing slips and try to cut them out For the one's I don't see My hair is breaking there Plus I have 4b and 4c strands through out my hair I want to reach my goal Please help Comment from : @obsidian3510 |

I agree with everything except the protective styles Black women do not need to wear their hair tucked away in order for it to grow or retain length The key is low to no manipulation during the week Comment from : @mickeyxoxo5363 |
