Can you do a video on picking hand position? I brush my thumb against the strings but some people say you need to pick slant and have only palm resting on guitar????/

This was the key to unlocking speed picking for me I was stuck at 132 b/m for years I have been doing Steve's technique for a year now and I can now do this exercise at 200 b/m This combined with Troy Grady's YouTube instructional videos has completely changed my abilitybrbrThis video is goldbrbrThis is how to pick fast and clean

Mr Stine I have for a long time tried to learn how to pick with speed I have listened and watched your instructional video and it has been very helpful My question: when I run 4 notes downward starting with the low E string (#6 string) I begin as you suggest with a down stroke The difficulty I am having is I seem to have a natural tendency to want to travel upwards from the high E string starting with an up stroke The up stroke (from the high E string #1) seems to be smoother, more efficient and faster than beginning with a down stroke I also noticed I seem to be loosing speed when I try to use a downward stroke instead of the upward stroke when moving up Do you have any insight or suggestion regarding that seemingly natural tendency?brFrank
