I remember those stylus guitar picks from back in the daythose things would pop a string in a heartbeat 😆 Comment from : DarkLight |
Love the 'half tone' concept Comment from : weedian710 |
Just checked the website Pricing starts at $360000 Comment from : firefight77 |

Eddie Van Halen gets fully deserved credit for his accomplishments but a lot of people don't realize that Floyd Rose is the genius that allowed us to have Eddie Van Halen Floyd deserves more credit for all the greatness he inspired brJust my opinion though Comment from : B Wise |
ya interseting but how do you like it Comment from : Straight Shooter |

Hi Steve great review on Floyd guitar I met you at Namm I also saw you at his booth playing that guitarI have one his guitarsbr that we built 2 years ago that is single coil with a blend knob it was one of the prototypes I did for Floyd we had at Namm That year He gave it to me as a bonus Comment from : bdawgz28 |
What is that model number? I want one just like this!! Comment from : Dom G |
Yeah but you can't buy one bro Comment from : dinofond |
If you go to I think I haven’t checked it out but I’ve been on the site before and there was guitars that Floyd Rosecom it’s in the wallNew Jersey they have a Floyd Rose store there Comment from : Freedom Fighter |
I made that "speed guide" out of wood on a regular guitar so many years ago Comment from : Kai Eisberg |
Learn how to pick on top of your pickupsthat's how I did it Comment from : collin johnson |
Seems like a nice guitar, but PLEASE get the logo off the front of the body Comment from : Dagger G Blue |
Honestly, that hump between the pickups is a horrible idea The biggest problem with 3-pickup guitars has always been that damn center pickup being in the way No idea why somebody would intentionally put something in the way that you can’t move At least you can lower a middle pickup Swing and a huge miss for me Cool guitar otherwise though But that’s a deal breaker Comment from : iceman7511 |
Spec and Sound wise it is fine, but god that finish is lackluster to say the least yikes Comment from : Slice Of Zza |
If you could live without the neck pickup, the guitar can have a deep AND a shallow area You would have a speed pick area Comment from : Alex Castro |
You could play around the 3rd fret on a regular guitar and pick right behind your fingers on the fretboard to get an idea what it's like Comment from : Alex Castro |
Nobody's mentioning the price It's probably ridiculous 😒 Comment from : Tom White |
what a wonderful guitar Comment from : leeD S |
Hey Steve, thanks for the video I actually was the guy talking with you at NAMM Saturday when me, you, and Floyd were sitting on the side talking through this while you were playing you purple guitar I really did think it was marketing BS until I tried one Just a very cool way to help get a players speed up Well done, i'm sold! Great meeting you Saturday! Comment from : ML Guitars |
Steve I seen this guitar on another video with Floyd showing the guitars and he mentioned your name I had to come check it out since it was you doing a demo of this guitar You brought out some great points in the video about the guitar and how and when you might want to use it Hell it does look sweet like that older 80 style guitar with some mods to it Great video! Comment from : DreidMusicalX |
Played it at Namm, Floyd himself gave us a guided tour, and it did make it easier to play fast The guitar was nice, played very well, seemed well made The blend knob was cool too Comment from : David Peterson |
It's good for shredders but blues and funk players will not like it 😅 Comment from : hanten10 |
Now, I want a Floyd Rose guitar With a hard tail bridge Comment from : Dhan Kharroman |
Nice to see Floyd is spending his time on improving his line of guitars Manufacturing strings for all the owners who purchased his previous version? Not so much Comment from : Maxx61 |
this is not the first time that Floyd Rose do a guitar15 years ago they did a run as well Comment from : Rabih Saad |
Not bad looking and sounds very nice However, when you ALREADY have your name on the tremolo and ALSO on the headstockdo you REALLY need to ALSO put it on the body so we can make sure we know that you made the guitar? Hope it is a sticker lol Comment from : GuitarMan86 |
What is msrp? Comment from : Vee Patrick |
Pity not 24 frets But still sounds good Comment from : Aleatoriac |
I like how you can blend single coil and humbucker I can see that “ speed rail “ would create a very worn out spot on the body Comment from : tpike32 |
who would want to remove there neck and shim to adjust this for speed picking training? I don't recall the name of it, but someone makes an adjustable plate that you can install for this on the face of the body Comment from : bluemawks |
めちゃめちゃ傷がつくだろうね。 Comment from : じぇいぴい |
Do the strings hit the speed guide under heavy trem use? Comment from : kitoyobeni1 |
I'd like to play one of these Guitars Comment from : Damian S |
In my head I've figured out a way you could do this to any guitar with a drill, router, saw, a pieces of plexiglass at whatever thickness you like, and it would just be held on by buying yourself some longer pickup mounting screws The blend knob is cool, but a little time and ingenuity on the workbench would save you having to buy a whole new guitar just to shallow up the distance between the strings and the face of the guitar Comment from : RayBbaby |
Id like to see all the scratches on the "guide" in 3 months Comment from : nick belluomini |
I love Strats and I find this one very interesting Me likey 🎸 👌 Comment from : David Kastin |
3:44 near-perfect Stairway tuning and tone/sound :) Comment from : Coolmacatrain |
Why not use the fret board as a speed thing Comment from : Mike Hunty |
As left handed player, it’s really hard to demo anything, because most left handed guitars are bought sight unseenbrIt would be fun to play with for a bit I have never been a “shredder”, although as a metal player, i can pick fast Sweeping and such never really interested me, musically brSo it would be cool to see its applications for different things musically Comment from : Allen Dean |
The Gary Willis bass from Ibanez kinda has a similar idea to this Comment from : ThomasSukhoi |
you could just chop the plectrums really small so there is less to dig in ? ! Comment from : ukguitarnoodle |
didn't the Gambale Ibanez have everything sunk with similar effect? Comment from : ukguitarnoodle |
The thing that sucks is every time I google “Floyd Rose guitars”, everything BUT this guitar comes up! 😠 Comment from : Afurthyclays |
Seems interesting to me I'd have too play one my self It looks fantastic Comment from : Jaime Anderson |
Does it come with a Shaller Tremolo? hahaha Comment from : woocifer |
Hi Steve! Haven`t heard before that Floyd Rose might be a guitar, but it sounds very interesting Could you please explain the whole chain used in this video? is it your black spirit? And what is your impresssions considering this guitar vs Ibanez? Comment from : Igor Elperin |
I had one of the old ones years ago with the speed loader strings, when will this be out? looks and sounds great! Comment from : mjones53 |
That's the worst headstock I've seen in a while Comment from : Matt Quillen |
You're rad, but that guitar is fugly Comment from : Dime Baggins |
Interesting guitar Floyd has been one of the greatest innovators of modern guitar design His Trem changed the way rock guitar is playedbr I love the finish, and sounds killer, but often that’s in the hands of the player on the fence with the speed guide though, it’d be nice if he offered it without that featurebr Happy, Healthy and prosperous New Year to you and your family Steve br☮️🤘🏼 Comment from : Jim Simmons |
I like the pick up blending build em without the speed guide thingy Comment from : ThunderFalcon |
Send it back!!!??? Nooooooooo! Comment from : Michael Slawinski |
Pretty sure this isn't Floyd's first guitar build and if anything is achieved here, it certainly gives other more prolific builders some ideas It's really an exciting time for shred guitars I'm no shredder and always have gravitated toward being a chordal player, but in the past year I've really been drawn to shred guitarslots of great sounding remarkable playing fantastic looking instruments for heavier playing Mr Rose again puts his foot in a future with a truly positive outcome Like his other attempts, this seem less an effort banking on guitar sales and more of an indictment on design and possibility of the future of guitar building Just my thoughtswell done Floyd! ✌️ Comment from : GMichael Hall |
break a string on that you gotta tune it for like 20 minutes The bridge is great once in tune but garbage when tuning it Comment from : One-Minute Metal |
Maybe we should experiment with beer mats and duct tape to create our own speed guides? Nice sound btw Comment from : Michael Annely |
That guitar looks and sounds lovely! I WANT ONE!!! brbrcould you ask Mr Rose what he thinks of the idea of guitar electronics becoming modular, so you can easily swap your pickups and pots over without the need for fiddly soldering, literally just unclip one pickup and click another one in place, You could use your favourtite guitar kneck and swap from an EMG for one song to a damazio for another, you could swap pots out for coil taps etc Do you think this would be a worthwhile path for guitars to progress down? Unless I've missed a manufacturer who's already doing this you should put the idea out there so manufacturers like Floyd can consider it Comment from : Aten Ra |
Steve do you prefer low action on your guitars? Comment from : Angel C |
Oh the stylus pick we’re cruel tools, they do help with pick depth but made pinch harmonics wicked hard 😂 Comment from : Poo Ninja |
You had me until you got to the speed guide Comment from : AJ |
Cool sounding guitar and not so cool idea for faster picking I am sticking to my metronome Love your channel Also, a speed machine should perfunctorily have 24 fretslol Comment from : glock17sks56 |
Very cool video showing everything, you're really great at explaining things in a way a novice would understand Comment from : Grimm and Lily |
Looks and sounds good hopefully it's well received and they'll expand and make various different model types BTW i remember the STYLUS pick i've seen it advertised in guitar magazines in the late 1980s Comment from : Robert L Smith |
Heel joint? Comment from : Luey Sixty-six |
Any idea what one like that one costs? Comment from : Moore Outdoor |
No idea Floyd Rose made guitars Sticking to my Ibanez Edge but nifty regardless Comment from : TheShinyShow |
Nice, but I will stick with my Strat Comment from : blueyepaul |
Very interesting guitar Steve and like tha speed guide thing Thank you for sharing and have a good 2020 Comment from : Edgar Ux |
Interesting! Those pickups sound killer I wonder if the speedguide is more helpful for your left hand as it seems a little "training wheely" for the picking hand The thing about those stylus picks is that they actually train your picking hand to stay shallow while this is kinda like putting the bumpers up when you're bowling As far as digging deep when you want to, I suppose you could pick further back towards the bridge pickup although that changes the sound obviously Very cool guitar I'll have to check it out Comment from : Rick From the Cape |
Seems like a good idea, but having it built-in might be an issue An adjustable or removable speed-guide would be neat Comment from : Garry Davlin |
Floyd Rose made a guitar? At least the trem should be good Comment from : David |
Like your playing, like your channel but, this guitar is a total flop Comment from : Quentin James |
Hmmm, makes you wonder if attachable/removable 'speed guides' are a feasible idea Certainly seems like something I might benefit from, learning to play faster is killing me! Comment from : Zelomeister |
Interesting Comment from : John |
Buen video felicitaciones!!!!!!!! Comment from : leonardo pari anahua |
