My MSI isn't supported for Dragon Center, I use MSI Center :( Comment from : Username |
Not only this reduce tempreture in games, it solved the issue of the laptop going nuts in idle mode, which resulted in tempretures higher than 85 while being absolutely idle with no use!! now it's sitting at 45 I definitely shouldn't have found this video after 3 years of having the laptop , you're a legend Comment from : EnVaH Anime |

It's 2023 and msi laptops are still overheating They're basically specialized in microwaves now Comment from : Revolt |
For your information, this option limits the processor speed from 45 GHz to 25, which is the natural number and the high temperature due to the automatic overclocking by default Comment from : Best of - ترشيحات الافلام |
Before in "sport mode " temps about 75° and pics , now 54° in a room at 25°!!! very thk to you and i can't undervolt cpu in bios no options for no " K " Comment from : Elsassisch |

Wow this is insane, before doing this I was spiking from 40 - 98 degrees sporadically all the time Sitting mostly at 80-86 degrees without even doing anything This is a huge oversight on MSI's behalf Comment from : M S |
YOU ARE A DAMN HERO Comment from : D-4-REVELUTION D4R |
"fix in 2 minutes" brbspends 8 minutes blabbering about power plans instead of unclogging dust from the inside of the most autistic computer layout I've seen because the fans are now burning a hole through the casing/b Comment from : Jango Unchained |
Ty bro first thing work amazing Comment from : deaddevilking |
You are just gimping your cpu performance this way Correct me if i am wrong but if you set it to 99, and your cpu base clock let say is 26 & boost is 47ghz So 99 means you setting your boost speed as your base speed which is at 26ghz and it will never go up So 95 means 95 of 26ghz ie 246ghz and so on So whats the advantage of this expensive laptop Better to underclock which is limiting your boost clock to say 37ghz, this way you get good performance as well as cooler cpu Correct me people if i said something wrong, no hate ✌🏼 Comment from : ankur dwivedi |
Well just managed to get my GPU temp down 4 degrees on MW2 simply by changing from 100 to 99 Max processor state Fps wasnt negatively impacted Cheers for bothering to make this Has actually helped Comment from : Harrison Johnston |

Incredible!brI was about to buy a $100 cooling pad but watched this and since the settings were easy to change I did them and using MSI afterburner to monitor my FPS and CPU temp i got this;brbr60 FPS with my CPU temp at 65C! That's incredible! I was getting 40 FPS and 87C before this! You're amazing thank you! Comment from : Deric Mederos |
Is it possible for you to make an updated tutorial with the new version of the Dragon Center since I don’t really see the same options anymore Comment from : Josh Ctrain |
Bro this is a fucking lifesaver No longer 94C temps at 25 CPU usage Comment from : Atro |
It's better to change the setting of the processor performance boost mode to disabled How to do this can be found by searching by the phrase 82be-4824-96c1 In addition, I suggests replacing the thermal paste with Honeywell PTM7950 phase-change material is more thermally conductive than the best pastes Replace low performance thermopads with gummy thermal paste Laird 607 or Upsiren U6 Pro And making undervolting CPU and GPU at -100mV or more if it will be stable Comment from : Goorthiss |
Another, more practical thing to do is to reduce throttling temperature limit to 80 deg This will allow this particular model of laptop to work at 38-39 ghz for prolonged period of time, maintaining 80C temperature It will throttle from time to time but it will never exceed 80C, maintaining high efficiency Disabling tucomputing power Comment from : constellation982 |
yes this will lower temps but it turns off boots clocks 4 to 25 so this essentially just turns off boost clocks the wrong way a better way is to just turn off boost clocks and instead of it being stuck at 25 which is just a default setting when windows doesn't know what to do and trying to save your CPU properly turning it off it will fluctuate not go past 26 or whatever your normal clock is fortunately it's at the same spot in the settings but you have to enable the option in the registry Comment from : Meno |
I have fan mounted under my GL63 9SDK directly under vents on the bottom blowing up A metal rack 2" hold the laptop off of any surface I have no problems when play games now With out it my laptop shut down in less than 2 minute's It just needs a little more air and no heat problems since I did this 2 years ago Comment from : Leon Harris |
Without this slightly older msi stealth series are unusable I think that’s hilarious I should buy them up Comment from : Bobby Broward |

Dude, this is like an IRL cheat For months my GS66 Stealth has overheated and crashed in GTA, RDR2, Lego Star Wars the Skywalker Saga (what? I know), and Genshin I tried out this little trick and no crashing in Genshin Later today I am going to try RDR2 and see how it holds up Temperatures remained around 66*C, while before I think it would reach 85*C and proceed to panicbr- Yes, been playing RDR2 for around 2 hours Temps haven't gone over 76*C, FPS hovers around 60 (Vsync on) but I also upped my graphics settings Comment from : MicahTheManiac |

This helped so much, I've avoided playing any intensive games on my laptop due to the issue and that some of the things i read online scaring me away from using cooler booster Comment from : Mwgzbro |
I'm honestly a little stunned, but this worked for my MSI stealth I've tried everything, even disabling turbo with throttlestop, and only ever dropped temps by like 10degrees Sometimes it would still overheat Changing max processor to 95 dropped temps 20 degrees and I don't even have to turn turbo off Unreal I've been plagued by this problem ever since I got my laptop a year and a half ago and I've never been able to solve it Thank you so very much for this fix Incredible find Will update if the fix ever reverts to shutting down my laptop while gaming Comment from : Jack Garthe |
